Good morning!
Sounds like you guys are up and at it already today!
We are just picking up around the house here today and need to run to the store at some point. It was supposed to rain, but apparantly they changed their minds, so I am hoping that DS and I can go outside later today.
Have a great day everyone!

Hello!!
I haven't been eating the best the last couple of days, we've been on the go, go , go. We took big DS to see Lipscomb Univ. yesterday, and I think thats where he's gonna wind up. I didn't eat well at all, or on schedule, but I'm back on track today. My dizzy's are coming and going, I don't know whats up with that. I haven't got test results back yet, probably won't til tomorrow, but I'll let you know when I do. Looks like its gonna be another beautiful day here, gonna go out and catch a few rays while I pull weeds from my flower beds.
GG, the new stable sounds like a good deal, I really love walking/running with my dogs I bet people think I'm crazy because I will talk to those silly pooches the whole time we're out. It's relaxing and exercise at the same time. Does that make sense????????????
Alicia, hope things are better for you, is the back still giving you fits?
Diana, glad to see you are back!
Pam, vote? is it primary day where you live?
Dawn, enjoy the sun while you can!
Trish

hey, girlies! Well, yesterday was pretty good until I got a migraine late yesterday evening. I felt it coming on before we left for my son's bball game, but forgot to take something (was rushing around getting supper, uniforms, homework, etc....I forgot about myself!!). Then at the game the sun was right in my eyes and I got hot (it's in the mid-80's here), which made the headache much worse. So, after the game I ate a brownie and some tater tots leftover from supper. I didn't totally bomb, but pretty close. Sometimes, eating will help my headaches.....last night, either eating or the ibuprofen helped, not sure which. I was desperate for relief, though, so it was almost worth bombing.........and today's a new day..........get to start all over (I love do-overs!!! LOL) I'll just hope for a better day today.
Well hope you guys had a GREAT day yesterday......and an even better day today.
Don't remember who yesterday was talking about their redneck house.....but I feel your pain. We have a window that's been busted out (and covered up with a piece of paneling) for a couple months now (it's on the side of the house where no one but our cooky neighbors can see it). It's in a room that we're about to get started on remodeling, so we just haven't bothered with replacing it yet. We've had other projects going. Our house was an EXTREME fixer-upper when we moved in almost 7 years ago. We've come a long way, baby! LOL What's one busted out window in the grand scheme, ya know? LOL (Although when someone walks around that side of the house, it's a little embarassing!!)
Well, I have mounds and mounds of laundry to do today....otherwise, everyone will have to go naked at some point this week! lol Have a GREAT day ladies!!!

Mornin' All!
Diana, welcome back! of course we remember you!
GG, Eli's puppy nipping is getting crazy. DH bought some bitter apple to put on things we know he likes to bite, but he attacks poor Robby all the time. This AM the poor kid was frozen screaming because Eli was biting/pulling on the cargo pocket on his pants. I had to pull him off. I was thinking of getting a spray bottle of water to squirt him everytime he bites like that...what do you think?
Did I mention that they're going to hire me by the end of the month? Or at least make a decision by the end of the month? Unless I'm a murderer or crack ho, I'm getting hired. They're checking refs this week. I'm soo excited!!
Have a great day all!

Lauren, you did mention the job. Sorry I forgot to congratulate you before, it's great it has worked out esp after that last job. BTW, did you say you worked with seniors, as in senior citizens? Wish I could give some advice for your pup. Maybe spray Robbie with the bitter apple, Im just KIDDING!
Sara, WELCOME, it's always nice to have someone new join. So what brought you to Egypt?
Joan, I don't know if you caught Colin Firth this am on Regis and Kelly? He was promoting a new movie he has coming out, EXCITING! BTW, last summer DD watched DS while I worked, (i was working part time)
I'm gonna try and clean the basement today. Pam, send some of your cleaning vibes my way. It's the boys room down there and is a complete disaster area. I usually try to turn my head when I go down to do laundry.
Eating has been okay, I still need to get in more exercise though.
Talk later everyone!
Alicia

Good morning all! How has everyone's day started off so far? Mine has been good! I started jogging on the treadmill this morning and dh asked if I could stop since he was on a conference call so I did my circuit training and took my jogging outside! I felt really good after except somewhere in all that, I pulled something in my hip? Not sure what I did, but I am gimping around now! I must be getting old, I keep falling apart! I have a breast exam this afternoon, found a lump and it's been bothering me mentally. Going to run with dh over to look at a motorcycle. Looks like he will be buying a new one today, and somehow squeeze in some house work when i can!
I gotta go, gonna try to go pick up dresses for me and my sisters to wear in my mothers wedding. Hope everyone has a good day!
Steph
Oh and BTW, WELCOME Sara!!

Hi there!
I'm new to the group. 30...inching my way up to 31 in July and I live in CA.
I just joined last night and hope to get my daily dose of motivation and inspiration here
My day started off ok. Had a flax and wheat pancake with apple sauce and a large bottle of water. I had my faith in humanity restored by someone finding my ipod at the office gym last night AND returning it! Now i have no excuse to go again tonight and run.

Christina, wow, GREAT weight loss! You must feel tremendous!!! Way To Goooooo!! I'm patiently waiting just to get back under 200.....seems soooo far off...even though I know if I just stuck to it, it'd be here before I know it. I want 15 lbs off by end of June......that's my first kinda big goal. That'll be half my battle of getting under 200!
If I can keep from getting another headache today, I think I'm having a good day. DH and I had a talk on Saturday night about my weight....I explained to him how much I depend on him for his support and to help keep me strong. I also explained to him that I wanted to see our 60th anniversary and that at the rate I am going now, I won't see our 20th (we just celebrated #14 in November). He said it really got him thinking (Monday he told me this) and he apologized for not being more supportive. He promised to do better. I feel like I rely on him and put too much of the responsibility of losing weight off on him......but he's the one constantly suggesting going out to all you can eat buffets. That's what's killing me........soooo, right now I'm cooking food for the next couple of days (no excuses for going out). When that runs out, if I haven't had time to cook more, we'll go to Subway. I know I won't mess up there.
Okay, I'm rambling. I've done well so far today. I'm taking these vitamins (multi) that are supposed to also have an added appetite suppressant in it (no stimulants). They really work at suppressing the appetite.........I've been eating lately out of boredom.......not because I don't have anything to do, but dont' want to do what I need to be doing.......so I eat.
Okay, rambling again...hope everyone else is having a good day!!!

Hey all...
So guess what? Cady & I went to vote & there was a local news camera guy there. So, I checked out the news at noon, and right at the top of the hour there were Cadence & me going into the voting booth!!! Unfortunately she was still at school, but I just got on here & went to their website & showed her the footage...how fun!!
Yes, I live in PA...a huge state right now...would have thought everything would have been sewn up for both parties already, pretty funny it's still going. We never have this kind of attention at primary time.
Dawn hope you & Tai got out today!!
Trish, hoping your dizzies go away soon!!! At least enough to get out & garden!!
Diana..welcome back. Girl, there's been a saying going around these boards lately...just do it!! You know you can!! And that's why we're all here!!! Good for you on the eating in..so much better for your health AND wallet!!! Hope your headaches are gone
Lauren..know what my MIL (who has is the best dog trainer, IMO) does? She rolls up a newspaper and hits her hand, the floor, wall, whatever is nearby & tells the dog no. Has worked well for Daisy, to the point where all I have to do is get a paper if she's misbehaving & she stops!! I do know that the water gun worked on my cats I used to have!! Hey, and good luck getting the job!!
Alicia...hey girl!! Hope you got that basement clean! ARe you feeling better today?? Hope so...
Steph..when is that wedding? I think you had mentioned it before. I'm praying for you that the lump is nothing. Good for you for getting it checked.
Christina...glad you are feeling better. I think it would be very cool to be a lactation consultant...good for you for learning something new!!
Sara & Lucky...WELCOME!!! you will find lots of friends & support here!!
Okay, gotta go figure out what to make for dinner...I'm leaning toward turkey tacos. Off to bellydancing tonight. Only 1 more class after tonight, then my teacher is taking May off, so I singed up for the summer session...I wish you guys could see my "moves" (haha!!) it is such a fun thing to do, and Frank loves it when I come home & show him what I learned, lol!!!
Have a great night, all!!
Pam

Stephanie, hope all went well at the DR.s and fingers crossed all is well.
Cristina, I went to the store and the color I had decided on was all out, I took it as a sign and I'm still thinking it over, I'm very indecisive. The lactaid consultant sounds very cool. Do you get to visit new mothers in their homes?
Pam, neat about being on tv. The basement is finished, I hope they'll keep it clean for a while.
Luckylettuce, welcome!
Not having a great afternoon....round two about the job. I'm very upset, so please keep your fingers crossed I find something soon. You all are the best!
Talk later! Alicia

evening all...well work was ok. Nothing too dramatic mostly...some stupid stuff but nothing i want to get into.
trish -walking the dog is always very relaxing for me. Even though i work out when i do it (my dog doesn't walk slow) it lets me just chill
gaining-it was me with the redneck house. At least there are windows back up now. Still a few more wks before siding goes back up (waiting on a new door). i also understand about the dh thing...my dh always is baking cookies and cake. he can eat all the time and not gain. I have issues staying away from the sweets.
christina- good job on the wt loss...keep it up
welcome lucky feel right at home and stop in any time
alicia-good luck on the job
lauren -here's my advice from a vet who loves animal behavior. there are two ways to approach it. Eli is playing but he needs to know that is unacceptable behavior...in natural dog order older dogs teach how "far" a puppies limits are. You now have to do this. I do one of two things...and this is what either mom or alpha dog would do for normal dog behavior. The first trick is to grab him by the nap of the neck and gently push him to the ground so he's laying on his side...tell him "no bite" do not let up until he relaxes and is submissive. If when you let him up...he goes right back to biting push him back into that postionhe ..do it again...repetition, repetition, repetiion. The other way is to use one hand and grab the scruff of his neck so he can't back up and with the other hand place it over his muzzle, look him straight in the eye and say "no bite" Do not let go until he once again is submissive. If you let go before he relaxes..he won. If you let go once he relaxes...you won. These methods are the way dogs treat each other in normal play/life. The rolled up newspaper will work..however, it will teach the dog to be fearful...instead of learning proper "puppy boundries" Also start getting him into puppy training. In addition , make sure your son is involved in his training. He may be young but he needs to learn that your son is also alpha dog. I would recommend having your son (with your help) start to feed the dog. Make your son ask him to sit and he doesn't get food until he respected your son to sit. Right now eli is just testing the boundries of play. And yes its probably scaring your son...but eli will learn thr those techniques that ALL Memeber of the family are alpha dog. pick up the book by Ceasar Milan...he really is a great expert...or also watch a few episodes of "its me or my dog" on the animal planet...another great source of how to understand how to "think like a dog" and train them properly and not thr fear. hope that helped.
alright all..i'm off to cruise around...night all.
