Alright. If points are just calories, why would people "count points" instead of "counting calories"? I'm just trying to figure out what the big deal is with these points. As far as I know, EVERYTHING has calories written on them - not everything has points associated with them.

(Don't you worry, MO, when I get a free moment, I'll deal with you properly, babe.)

's to everyone out there.

Hey Hey Hey!

Good midmorning everyone!

So Sheila....
Where do you ge the intramax and the cocnut oil? And what exactly is the lymph cleanse? Sounds interesting! I don't know how I will do without deoderant but I will give it a shot!

Kerry
Do you like edamames??? I love to get the precooked ones and keep them in the fridge at work and then I just throw salt and pepper on them and eat them out of the pod. Great snack!

John - good to see ya!

GG
My dog is great! The only thing that I wonder about is that he seems to tweek his tail easily and get like a "kink" that always goes away but he is always wagging his tail and whacking it on stuff! Big dork that he is!

Hanna
So sorry your lovey is sick! Hope he feels better! Make sure he gets plenty of liquids to replace the ones he's lost....poor lil man!
What was the 7 day detox diet you did? Tell more!

Roo
WW does work really well! My sister and I find that if you get the books and menus etc you don't really have to pay for the meetings if you don't want to.... but it does work!

Hi Joan and Lauren and Mo!

Reality Mom Your kids are toooooo cute! Good for you with the fast food! I have stayed away from it for so long that when I do try it now, I get a tummy ache! Although I must admit I do give in to the occasional In N Out Burger but MMMMMMMMmmmm that doesn't count! HAHAHAH

Alicia - you doing okay today????? I know you are stressed - would love to see you are doing ok

Roo, it just makes life easier to count points for some people. If you carry your Points finder around with you, like the grocery store, you can figure out the Points for things you want to buy. What I used to do it write the points per serving right on the box/package when I got it home. For stuff like snacks, I would use the snack bags and count them all out right away, then store the bags in the original packages and just grab one when I wanted a snack...no thinking involved!

I personally like the points system a lot!

Hey Slim Slim Babykins! Well, I have this wonderful book that made a huge difference in my life the second I bought it. No joke. I read through it and did more research and then went in and demanded some changes in my treatment. That along with certain vitamins and other supplements and food choices outlined in that book, my weight started to come off finally. Coconut Oil was one of the things that is suggested to take to help w/weight loss! The book is The Thyroid Diet by Mary Shomon. LOVE IT and her!

Hey all, just took that picture (newest Avitar) about 1/2 hour ago...hopefully I do look like I've lost weight like ya'all have said...because it's been a long danggone road!!! ;-) MO

Roo, WW does work. I think more than calories though it takes into account fat and fiber. For example, something high in fat will be more point than something low in fat, both having the same calroies. It has been a while, so I may be off. You could go to a meeting and get all the tools. They also have good snacks at the meetings that you can't find at the stores. I did find untill I was making something at home like lasagna. Was kind of difficult to figure the points. But if you have chicken breast and a salad, well that would be easier. I also think that lean Cuisine has WW info on the boxes.

Hanna, sorry about Sean. Hope he feels better soon. Your little yorkie too.

GG, I got the DVD! I will try it either tonite or in the morn. I have 5 lb weights so that should be good dont ya think?

Lauren, congrats on the job and your dishwasher! I know I am probably an oddball but I don't like dishwashers.

Joan, my sil makes something similar. She's from the philipines, I don't know if it is a philipino dish or not. Instead of the pudding, hers has either cream and evaporated milk.

Kerry, maybe yogurt or a trailmix? Sorry DH isn't more supportive.

John, I was wodering where you disappeared to. Where do you work?

Welcome REALITY MOM!

Well my Dr appt went pretty good. Dr saids I have Sub Acute Lupus. Seriously I thought he was making it up as he went along. Anyways, it affects the skin. Mainly parts exposed to sun. Makes my arms purplish, itchy and painful. Anyways he gave me a prescription for a medicine. Now I have to visit the Ophthomoligist (eye dr) Because the meds can effect the vision. I told him I already see an optometrist. He explained the difference. I felt like a DA. But, I really thought they were the same. Oh and had to get more blood work, of course. LOL Anyways, feeling much better.

Hey to everyone else!

Reality: Hey baby boo, don't be so hard on yourself! You've already brightened up this joint with your energy..it's friggin' awesome having you posting here w/our family! We all look in the mirror and have that change in body image after getting photos back. That's what frightened me too. The important thing is...that is the past. The more you realize how beautiful a person you are regardless of that the more the outlook will change and you'll wake up one morning and say: "Whoa there....check me out..I only have 10 pounds to go!" Time will fly by baby and you'll be struttin' the good stuff! Besides, @ weddings, no matter what we wear, we always hate it afterwards (unless of course it's your own wedding...and I wouldn't know about that)!

Ok sexy mama.... and all you other fabulous 30 somethings...I'll CU latah.

Big John John: Hurry back oh hunk a burnin' love you!

Love, Resident Moster (get it...the play on our resident Rooster-well one of them-).

okay...today sort of sucked...it was one of those days i have to remind myself why i'm a vet. Several clients today were big pains. One owner brought his (actually his wife's) dog in for pus from the eye. Well we told him we'd like to to an eye stain to rule out a corneal ulcer. He said fine. did the eye stain...no ulcer. I explained to him that we did this to help determine what meds we could use...since the med i wanted to use would make an eye ulcer worse. Well he was witchin and moaning about how he thinks we're trying to take all his money. ****..take his money...i gave him a written script for the oral antibiotics (his teeth were horrible and were causing the eye issue) because he had a large dog (70lbs) and we didn't have the 150mg of antibiotics in stock..if ireally would have wanted to take his money...i would have charged him $95 for the 70 pills of antibiotics..instead of being thankful for saving him probably $80 he's whining about the $25 eye stain charge..uggh..people urked me today...i don't think it helps that i feel awful...couldn't wake up today..not sure if i'm just worn out or getting sick. so i've decided no working out tonight.
Going to bed early. I don't want to be sick for my long weekend. No plans for the weekend since DH has to study...but will watch the gator game sat and then prob go hiking some sunday.
sorry to be a bit on the negative side...just it was one of those days when i hate being a vet. I don't understand why people expect us to solve med problems without at least a few test...we're not magicians.

hannah - hope your little guys surgery went well. Hope sean feels better.

mo -glad to see you back...we really did miss you.

roo - i've been on ww and i liked it when i was going...just don't really have the money right now. It's similar to calorie counting but a bit differnt.

welcome to our crazy group reality

see lois - not too bad...many ppl and dogs (yep dogs get it too) deal with lupus..what meds did you get

alright all..think i'm going to cruise around for a while...

Evening Everyone,
Thanks to all gave me suggestions for snacks. I think I will make a trip to the store this weekend and pick up a few items. Dh asked me tonight when I came in the door why I was dragging. Told him that after eating lunch at 11:15 and not eating again until 6:30-7:00, I am starving. So you know what his suggestion was why don't you take yourself a little snack than. Hello where was this person on Sunday when we were at the grocery store.
Welcome Reality! Where in Ohio do you live? I live in the SE part of it. Between Chillicothe and Galliopolis. You have made the right decision to join our fun, loving family.
GG sorry to hear that you had a rough day at work and had to put up with the customer from h@ll! I hope make it through your last day of work for the week tomorrow without any major pain in the butts! Enjoy your rest this evening.
Alicia glad your dr. appointment went well. So when do you see the eye specialist? I think you did the right thing about your dh's plane ticket. When are you going to tell him about it? I image it must have been hard on you the last few weeks doing everything on your own.
Slim don't what to sound stupid but what are edamames? I have never heard of them before.
John glad to hear that you are still alive. Sorry you are working such long hours beside your self. That suxs! When will your co-worker and boss be back to work?
Mo love your picture. You look great! Glad you finally found the right things to do to lose weight. Keep up the good work! It is paying off.
Lauren, glad your repairs are coming along well. So when do you start the temp. position?
Hanna, sorry to hear that Sean is sick again. Did he have the flu or a virus? Hope he is feeling better tonight. That is sweet of your fil to come over and stay with Sean last night so you could go to Temple. Sounds like you have a wonderful fil.
Hi to everyone else. I am off to play a game on the computer and then going to bed. First think I have to do the dishes real quick. Chat with you all tomorrow.

Alicia- I work for a parking garage company in Washington, DC. I'm Mr. Fix all. I have a huge proper title but yeah really I'm Mr. Fix it. From card access, safes, doors, squeaky chairs, hanging pics and mirrors, cash registers, locks of all types and shapes, telephone lines,Cat 5 lines, fiber optics, 120 volts, 220 volts, Gates, ticket spitters,Overhead doors, toilets, HVAC, drywall, walls, tile. I can drive anything with 3 wheels or more. from fork lifts to 5 ton dump trucks. I plow snow in the winter. If the experts say it can't be done it comes to me and it gets done. I work in sub zero temps I work when its 110 outside, snow, rain, hurricane. I lift up to 158 lbs regularly.

I do the repairs, the installs, I even help in the planning.
In my spare time I work on cars. lol

This week is killing me I haven't worked out cause I'm in bed almost as soon as I get home. I'm typing this at work cause I just had to stop driving for a while. I know I've put over 200 miles on the truck this week alone and its only Thursday. I normally put 100 or less on it a week.

Monday was good tho. I had my dad, uncle and my cousins BF over for Monday night football. (GO RAVENS!) I cooked a huge pot from scratch chili, I had Bruats and chicken wings, Bud light and miller light and chips and dips. I did fresh grated cheese and fresh chopped onion too for the chili. It was man food night. It was awesome to cook for people. I'll make a good husband cause I don't mind cleaning and I love to cook and not just on the grill.

The 11th was hard for me but I was so busy that it helped. See my apartment shook when the plane hit the pentagon. I had 3 friends over there at the time too. They were all ok. I watched what happened in NY on TV and they showed a pile of rubble and all you here were these beeps. Well the beeps are from the locator's that Fire fighters ware. I know this cause I used to run on the rescue squad back home. When they play footage of it even now I can't stop myself breaking down and crying and it hunted me for months after it happened. I also saw how DC changed after the attacks I truly hope I never have to see MP Humvee with 50 cals. rolling down K st ever again. But yeah the 11th was hard.

I've gotten so much done and still so much more work to do. I do normally 3 tickets a day 5 if I'm busy so far this week I'm doing between 5 and 7 tickets a day lol.

Mo- glad to see you back have missed you. To bad you 1,000 miles away cause I'd show you even better things then whips and chains but really Glad to have you back and doing better and the pics look great.

to the newbies- Hi I'm one of the few guys that are around and I'm harmless till you get to know me

To everyone I'd give more shout outs but I'm tired and need to wash the concrete dust from the saw out of my hair. So I hope you all will settle for a big

Ladies, Hello? Did you hear John COOKS and CLEANS? I know there are some single ladies out there. I always joke that I need a wife, on the rare occassion DH conjures something up he leaves the kitchen a disaster.

Kerry, I believe the edamames are soy beans? I think I have seen them with the produce in a carton and maybe in frozen foods. I thought also of carrots with LF ranch. My DD used to have her school lunch at 10am, she would come home starving. Haven't made eye appointment yet. Have you been on POGO? They have lots of games. I was addicted to Poppit. My kids were worried about me so I had to stop, LOL. BTW, DH found out cause I used his bank card to buy the ticket.

GG, I am sure you need rest. Not having but one day off here and there is probably hard on the body. Take it easy. The med is Plaqvenil (sp) Have you heard of it?

Have a great nite everyone!

John too bad you are in Washington/Maryland area. Sorry about the rough week you are having.

GG, I hear ya on the customers. If I didn't know it, it has to be close to a full or new moon. Of course, our store was DEAD with a capital D tonight so that made for a long evening. Hopefully tommorrow will pick up.

Reality, if I haven't said it already, to our group. I am also in Ohio, but in the NW part of the state. (Toledo area) Glad to have ya!!

Well all, gotta go get my comforter out of the basement to put on my bed, it is supposed to be in the low 50's tonight.

Night all ,

Lisa
