Just for Fun! What is your favorite Christmas Song!

Okay we all have at least 1 all time favorite. That we LOVE at Christmas time. So what is your favorite(s)?

1. Do you hear what I hear?
2. Little Drummer Boy.

Those are my two all time favorites!!

Off the top of my head, I'd say:

1. O Holy Night - performed by John Berry
2. Christmas is a time to say I Love You - Billy Squier

Oh Holy Night. This man at the church where I grew up always sang it at Midnight Mass & it was unbelievable. I can still hear him.

Because I am spiritual but not religious and the other songs make me gag. Sorry they do, but hey there has to be room in the world for agnostics to for goodness sakes!

O.k...y'all have probably never heard this one...but it still makes me cry to hear it...

Ringing the Bells for Jim by Johnny Cash

It was on one of his old Christmas albums that I had on 8 track as a kid and I played it over & over & over again...I'd been looking for it for years on cassette or something & last Christmas my father-in-law found the album for me on CD...I was so excited!

Since I doubt many of you have ever heard it I'm going to tell you about it....you don't have to read if you don't want to! :p

It's about a little girl who gets caught by the preacher ringing the church bells on Christmas Eve when she's not supposed to & she tells the preacher she's just "ringing the bells for Jim" who is her brother & is really sick and dying & they don't expect him to live through the night & he just wanted to hear the bells again. Anyway, like all sappy country songs there's a happy ending...the next day the preacher catches her again, but this time she's ringing them because Jim is going to be o.k.

If I had to choose a traditional song I think it would be God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen when it's sung properly with harmony of course!

Ok, I love Christmas songs of all kinds but I LOVE the Waitresses' Christmas Rapping. It is not a traditional song, I know but I look forward to it every year on the radio. :)

I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

I love What Child is this and Do U Hear What I Hear!!!My favorite is Vanessa WIlliams Christmas CD!!!She is my favorite singer to listen to!!!
Also Aaron Neville since he is a hometown boy!!!!!!

The one that makes me cry is the one about the little boy wanting to get his mom some shoes to meet Jesus..That is sad but a good song!!I have to turn it off before SD#1 hears it.
RR

RR-Christmas Shoes is the song. I love that one too. In fact last year the first time I heard it I did cry. Funny how you should mention that. Last night it came on while I was talking to my friend. I put the phone down and had her listen to it.

Have to say I do love Grandma got runover by a reindeer. And the dogs barking Jingle Bells too.

Okay so I guess we all have lots of favorites.

Back to housework!!!!
