Ideas on What Weighs Almost Exactly One Pound!!! LOOK AT WHAT I'M GONNA DO HEHE
OK CHICKIES,
ANGELA THE DETERMINED WOMAN HERE LOL, I am going to make a corner in my office with a box in it, every pound i loose I want to put something in my house that weighs a lb in there when I feel like over eating etc i will lift this box and remember how much exactly I'm not carrying around 24/7 any more.
Any ideas on what would weigh about that? I was thinking a can of soup? or box of spaghetti or something? I don't know......what can I practically use for this. It's just to accumulate the weight to try to lift now and then for motivation.....
I don't know if this is accurate or not, but because I don't have hand weights, I always use a can of veggies instead of hand weights. I believe back in high school volleyball, our volleyball coach had us use cans of veggies as hand weights because it was a good weight. You might have to weigh a can of veggies, though, and see how much one weighs. My guess is that it's going to weigh about a pound or a little more.
This is a fantastic idea! What a motivational tool!
DH and I donated food to our local food pantry (1 lb for each lb we lost).
Why not fill your box with non-perishable foods and do the same?
As the box fills, you will have a great visual reminder of how far you have come. It can also be motivating to know that every lb. you lose will help someone else.

That is a great idea!!! Someone (not me; I'm too unreliable) should start a challenge to donate the amt of weight lost in non-perishable food!! Amt lost in the year, the month, whatever.
Unfortunately I am not losing any weight, so my contribution would be minimal. In fact, I might have to *take* food from a needy person by these rules!! I'll just go by amount I *want* to lose, which is 20-25 lbs.
LOVE this idea. I'm going to do it whether there is a challenge or not...

What a superb idea! Mind if I steal it? I'm afraid I don't have any specific suggestions as to what you can use that weighs exactly one pound. I like the suggestion to collect food items to donate later on, so I was thinking I would go to the grocery store and just start weighing boxes and cans of food on the produce scales. I'm going to keep on eye on this thread for more ideas and let you know what I learn, too!
You guys can use ANY of my hair brained ideas!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited....i'm off to curves with my mom right now be back later on...LOVE my community here
