Default first bout of dumping

Uggghhh I had about 2 1/2 ounces of tomato bisque from the deli! Big mistake as it was made with real cream. I feel like crap .. CRAP. nausea and (tmi) squirts. YUCKKKKKKKKKK

you have my sympathies, my dear. and i have news for you: it wasn't only the cream!!!! tomatoes have carbs as well. and you don't really know if they added flour or something as a thickener.

the OTHER thing is that this is a LIQUID, so that means it gets into your system much faster than something you have to chew. and if you had the soup before your protein - oh dear!!!

sooooo, you've learned a valuable - but miserable - lesson.

God I felt terrible last night. I haven't felt that bad for a long long time. Mental note though on what to stay away from.. and here I thought I was being safe. Yikes!

I'm betting it was the sugar in the tomatoes. (yep they usually put sugar in tomato soup and tomato sauce..)

we are not allowed tomato products for two months...

Big news....I am 3 years out and STILL have bouts of dumping. Just depends on the food. Only once every 4-5 months, but enough to make me remember. I am the only one that still throws up that I know.

My mom had her surgery about 6 years ago now and still dumps frequently when she eats ice cream or other sugary items. Even sugar free ice cream bothers her so it must be both the cream and the sugar.

I am surprised that tomato soup would do it though...I guess there must be cream and the tomatoes must produce sugar when broken down, too.

I dump once and a while, too. Though I'm not as sensitive as I was in the first year, I will still dump if I eat things that have sugar or too much fat in them. It's a kick in the pants to steer clear of that crap!

Heck, darn, shoot! Yep, dumping is the pits! I dump on the weirdest stuff and any sugar alcohol darn near kills me! I get nauseated everytime I drink Lipton's SF Mixed berry ice tea!! What is up with that. That is my favorite stuff!!!! I think I might be swigging instead of sipping!! I'm dumb! Tomatoes have a lot of natural sugar in them, plus what did they add to the mix? Check you spaghetti sauces and see how much sugar is in there!!!! I'm amazed.
