Default ran my first 5k distance -- twice!

So I've been training for a 5K on December 5th (following the C25K program). I haven't been following the program exactly, but have been trying to increase the distance that I run each week.

On Friday night, I decided to see if I could complete a 5K without walking. I made it in 42 mins and 27 seconds! Because the route is a loop from my apartment, it isn't exactly a 5k but actually a bit more at 3.22 miles.

I felt so great about it I spammed facebook, twitter, and my LJ account

Last night, I wanted to see if I could lower my time and I finished the same 3.22 mile loop in 40 mins and 15 seconds.

The other good news on the health front is that I'm finally in new territory after staying at a plateau for a while. I'm now down to 264 and just 24 pounds away from getting rid of the "obesity" label and just being overweight.

I can't wait till I can say I'm just fat!

That's awesome! Sounds like you are really kicking things up a notch... and of course the benefit is that you realize just how amazing you are. Not to mention, that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Way to set a healthy example for the rest of us!

Oh, and congrats on beating that plateau. That's gotta feel great!

That is awesome - congrats! I am in the middle of C25K, too - my endurance and times have improved a lot. I did a 5K earlier this month, clocking in at 49 minutes and will be doing another one in a couple weeks' time - hopefully I'll be able to cut some of my time.

LOL @ the fat comment!

LOL- Yea, I can't wait to be 'Just Fat.' I've still got another 55 lbs before that happens. On the upside, as of this morning, I'm no longer Morbidly Obese... just regular Obese.

Thats great! I'm going to try to run in a 5k this January so I hope I can keep up with the C25K schedule and do it as well.
