Default Something to curb hunger :)

It's time to go back to old folk remedies, lol

Pick up some Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar from your local grocery store and start putting 1-2 teaspoons in an 8oz glass of water with a little honey added or instead you can put the Apple Cider in some No Sugar Added Apple Juice like I do

Works wonders to curb appetite and actually gives you energy too, and has so many other benefits like clearing up acne, helping with diabetes, lowering blood pressure, etc...

Jellybean..thanks for the tip..you know, I have noticed drinking many things helps my appetite--namely coffee...but the apple juice idea sounds great to me especially for acne....don't know what's going on but I am getting some on either side of my face--wondering if it's my cell phone..dang good sign I talk on it too much!

LOL, ya, I don't talk much on the phone, I'm on the internet too much though, I'm an addict, hahaha .. but ya, I have gotten little breakouts around that time of the month but this time it has actually diminished quite quickly and haven't gotten any of those ingrown cyst type things on my face for awhile now. Beats all those facial products to try and rid of them when Apple Cider Vinegar is cheapest and healthier for the skin.

thanks for the tip. I have some Bragg's but have been using it for mixing salad dressings, I'll try it on it's own. I remember reading the ACV/honey/oil diet book years ago and it said the vinegar helps break down fat.

I read about Apple Cider Vinegar for weight loss in a magazine article a few days ago. I'm interested in what it can do and have been looking in stores for some on sale... when it comes down in price I'll prob buy a small bottle just to try it out!

Is the daily recommended serving just 1-2 teaspoons a day?

In many sites I've read about Apple Cider Vinegar, 1-2 teaspoons is the daily recommedation. Don't drink the AVC by itself though because it can burn your throat as it is a vinegar. For further information, go to the Bragg website and it should tell you all you need to know and recipes you can make with the ACV too.

I love apple cider vinegar to heavily dilute with water and use as a final rinse for hair (makes it gloriously shiny and seals in moisture) but I never thought about what good it would do if I actually consumed it, lol. I'll have to try it.

My mom's a diabetic and she takes the apple cider vinegar pills, would that work the same as drinking it diluted in water?

We used to be about the same size but she's so much smaller than me, she's a size 6 and I'm a size 13-14 or so.

She also works out religiouslly and watches her food carefully due to the fact her pancreas stopped producing insulin randomly one day.

Anyone have any experience with the pills?

I don't think apple cider vinegar does anything directly for weight loss but I was reading that vinegar in general lowers your insulin response to foods which can help keep your glucose more stable.

Drinking tea is awesome for curbing appetite though.

Now, you guys have really piqued my curiousity about this stuff. I am going to do some additional reading today.

Last year when I first began, I read water with lemon was supposed to help. I switched from Crystal Light to lemon water for several months. I don't know if it helped or not--but I did lose wieght--also of course watching calories and working out.

Recently I did read in one of my fitness magazines that several cups of coffee a day give your metabolism a boost. I love coffee so now I feel a LITTLE less guilty drinking it.

I have read that acidic ingredients help reduce GI. So I always figured that was part of what was healthy about the Mediterranean diet, with the vinegar and lemon juice, and I just try to use those often in my food.
