Default How do you handle a "relapse"?

Last night I went out with friends and ended up having several drinks. Then today when I felt guilty and slightly under the weather, I went to visit an old comfort. Mexican food!! Not only did I eat chips and queso, I went for the chicken chimichanga instead of a salad. I guess the good thing is it didn't taste as satisfying as it used to, and I couldn't eat as much I could before. Nevertheless, I feel like I have failed and let myself and my goals down. I am scared to weigh in Tuesday and worse, I am scared I could let this happen again. Why is it so hard to control myself sometimes? I know it's more than the food itself and yet I still do it. Any advice?

I had mexican Thursday for dinner and had remorse too, but we learned from our choices. I have been on the plan for a little over a month and have lost weight, I am not going to give up this easily. I got back on plan and look forward to continue my weight loss. I plan on staying out of mexican restaurants until I get my weight under control.

Default Handling Relapses

Jump back on the wagon quick and hang on for dear life!! Another words, let that moment of weakness end there, don't go for the gusto and keep eating/cheating, end it there, accept it for what it is and get back on plan right away and don't look back.

Thanks Karen,
I feel better today and although it was disappointing at least I don't feel like seeing what more damage I can do. When I WI tomorrow, I am going to be honest and tell them what I ate. I am prepared for a reflection of my cheat on the scales so I will be able to handle it, and move on. I have been reading a lot of the posts and I like the idea that we are learning about ourselves and to look ahead as well as behind to really understand how we work.

Karen gave you the best advice. If you have not attended any of the classes they offer, I would highly recommend them. I know that I got a lot of information out of them and it has really helped me discover and realize things about myself and my old eating habits. Take it one day at a time. Forget about yesterday, it is what it is. You can't change it, but you can make sure you don't repeat it.

Taytay,
Look ahead instead of behind you! I did the same thing week before last after my friend passed away. I ate. And ate. And ate...all to make myself feel better. When I went into the center I was very honest about what happened and they were supportive about me being back OP. The best thing was I dropped 3 lbs last week just by doing what I was supposed to do.
