Default It does happen eventually. It really does.

One of the things I have been looking forward to since starting my weight loss journey a month and a half ago is waiting for my stretched out from binging stomach to shrink up so I'm not so hungry all the time.

It's finally happened or at least I've finally noticed it.

Yesterday was a long day, my daughter has been sick and she had her first tutoring session. I planned to have a light dinner but at the last minute I had to take her to the doctor because she was crying with an earache.

Then we had a battle with the pharmacy after going to the doctor. They were understaffed and said they couldn't fill the script till this morning but I told them that was out of the question cause she has a infection and needs the medicine then. So I ended up taking her scripts to a different pharmacy. Anyway... to make a long story short...

It started getting late, my husband called and asked if I could just run by Little Caesars and pick up a hot & ready pizza before coming home.

This is the first unplanned meal that I've had since I started. It scared me at first because I was so hungry and I was afraid I'd eat too much of it. I usually keep a snack in my purse for times like these when I get hungry, so I don't feel ravenous when its meal time. But when I went to grab my snack it was gone and that's when I remembered that I forgot to refill my purse after eating the last snack.

I stopped and got the pizza, took it home and on the way home I decided that I was going to eat salad before eating some pizza. I keep a bowl of salad in the fridge so I can grab some when I want it. Its a easy go to snack or lunch. I also keep grilled chicken in the freezer in individually portioned baggies so all I have to do is pop the baggie in the microwave.

So I ate my salad when I got home and ate 2 slices of the pizza. Then I noticed something great. I was satisfied and I really didn't want anymore pizza. It does happen eventually, it really does, my stomach has finally shrunk. It made me feel really good.

I logged the calories I ate and still had room for dessert.

And to top it all off. I stepped on the scale this morning and I was down a half pound.

This is so great. Way to think things out before you dive in head first. This is the way we have to handle those situations where the tide could turn quickly on us. Congrats for thinking before eating.

See how planning helped, too. If the salad hadn't been handy you might have gone straight for the pizza.

Good job! That's a great idea to keep a pre-cut salad in the fridge, I think I'm going to start doing that.

Yep, that ready made salad has saved my butt a few times. I really love salads so it doesn't bother me to eat them a lot.

Awesome!

We have started keeping a huge bowl of salad in our fridge too. Hubby saves any left over chicken or pork to add to it and has that every day for lunch. It's a huge time saver to have it there waiting for when we need/want it!
