Default Year 3 Begins.

I started this weight loss journey in August of 2007 at 278 pounds. I was sure I would have all the weight off wayyyy before now, but the journey continues...

The first year, I lost 64 pounds. Then it got tricky. I have binge eating disorder, and the emotional/mental stuff came into play. I spent the whole second year (since last August) battling up and down the same 20-30 pounds. I have yet to get back to my low of last summer, 214. I did spend a lot of time on the mental stuff though and feel like I am actually making progress.

So now I want to dive in and get the rest of this weight off. I cannot *believe* it is taking so long. I never gave up along the way. I have been trying all along. I have "dieted" so many times before but this time I really made life changes. I spent 2 solid years on becoming a healthier person, and this will be year 3.

Hopefully year 4 will be about maintenance.

Lyn,

You have done beautifully. You have lost weight and kept it off, even if you didn't keep it all off, you kept a good portion off. For some of us, we take the long slow road and that is alright.

We are here for you

You are doing great... making changes that you can live with takes time. It's not easy to change your mindset.

I can totally relate! I lost over 70 pounds a few years back and then maintained for nearly 4 years with well over 100 to go. Although I'd dieted here and there and tried to watch my eating over all, I dove back into this head-first a couple of months ago. I've made progress since then and I know you can too!

I'm coming up on my 1 year since I started dieting and I've only lost 37 lbs so far. *Sigh*

I'm trying to be happy I lost at all. it just seems such a long time for so little reward. It's my own fault, I fell 'off the wagon' twice. once cuz I was just being irresponsible and the other because a medication made me eat and eat.

but I'm glad I've stuck with it and maintained my loss though through it all. that's better than gaining it back and then some!

You have done really well overall. Imagine if you had never lost any of the weight - you'd be right where you started, if not higher. It could be so much worse than what you think. You're doing great!

I'm at one year and have lost 3 lbs. I would love to say that I've lost 37. I guess it's all relative.

It's a process and a lifestyle. Look at my stats. I have done my backsliding, I know that with every meal I make choices and its MY journey. So here is for year 3 and on to forever because every little step to health I firmly believe counts (PS I have found activity I love, so no matter what my weight I am a moving mama, this is a win I never expected ) YGG
