Default "Adult Beverages" on MRC plan?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I am curious....
I have been on Atkins before, and on that plan I think that you can have certain adult beverages (rum, vodka, gin, etc...) because they are carb free; you just have to be cautions with your choice of your mixer (personally, I liked sprite zero with a little Bacardi Razz). The concept was that you could have a beverage (in moderation), with the understanding that your body would stop ketosis only long enough to burn the alcohol and then go right back to it.

So my question is... can you have a beverage on the MRC plan without getting a 3day setback?

I'm not planning a wild night out, just maybe a little cocktail every once in a while....

thanks for any feedback!

The plan says no, but I have done Atkins before and drank a bit and still lost. I also had a few glasses of white wine on MRC last time and still had a loss. So I guess it is up to you. You could try it and see how your body reacts. Keep us updated!

i've been wondering about this, too. as a young'un, it's hard to go out with my bf and our friends and not have at least one cocktail, you know? i did atkins once upon a time, too, and loved drinking vodka and crystal light (seems weird, i know, but it was good!) but i'm scared to try it now. maybe i will just see if i have the fortitude to just drink a club soda...

we'll have to get creative and help each other come up with good alternatives.

You think football Saturdays are bad -- there were tons of people at my house this past Saturday night for poker night. Beer and snacks galore. BUT - I refrained. How I was able to do that I have no idea!!

Fifties Lady - I didn't win at poker, but you should have seen everyone looking at me sitting there at the table with my big water jug!

I'm missing Tanqueray and diet tonic.... That would've been legal on Atkins.
