LOL!! no, nessa - i'm not using them. they're really cute, though. but frankly, i don't need yet another set of dishes!!!!! i need to de-clutter as it is!
Here's a link to a pic of a bento box - they're Japanese lunch boxes - originally made of laquer. Everything's in a cute little compartment. They're making huge inroads around the world. In fact, it looks like they're also availalbe in some sort of tupperware-like construction. who knew?????

I've been eyeing Bento boxes and tiffins for a while. Vegan Lunch box is a great blog about someone who uses Bentos for her kid(s). She also shows some amazingly appealing food (and she has 2? cookbooks I believe)

I really want a glass bento lunch box because I microwave stuff and don't like microwaving in plastic.

I am sooo OBSESSEd with Bento Boxes and Japanese food!!!! It just love how everything is so portioned and all. I have been trying multigrain sushi and brown rice sushi lately and it has been so low calories and so tasty!!! DO you go to Whole Foods? They have the best fresh sushi and at a low price but I think it's a lot cheaper to make your own.

I like Bento boxes, but......unless then have changed they don't have the silicone seal and I have trouble with things leaking out. I do have a Mr. Bento Lunchbox That I use a lot in the winter for soups and such. It is like a round thermos and has three containers that do down inside of them. Only one has a seal so that things don't leak out. I've set up my own Bento box out of little Lock N Locks that I picked up at Walmart. Eggface on OH does a lot of pictures of her bento lunches. They look really, really good. Small servings and such a variety.

i went to that site, nessa, and all i have to say is: BENTOs bring new meaning to PLAYING WITH FOOD!!!
it's a tough call for me - it all looks gorgeous, but it takes time and thought. and as i've gone through this WLS journey, i've discovered that the LESS time i spend dealing with food and food-related STUFF, the better off i am.
but truly, eating should be pleasant, and not just about fuel. and it IS nice to sit down to a carefully presented meal.

Leaking is a problem
and I'm with Jif on the thinking too much about food
If it wasnt so much work I'd make that woman's chicken lolly pops! yummy and portion control!
