For people who don't know I am having a sleeve-gastrectomy tommorow. Anyways, my boss and I were chatting about it and he asked me what is the goal weight my doctor suggested and I answered 70 kg (154 lbs). So my boss gulps and goes
"BUT YOU ARE GOING TO LOOK VERY SKINNY SINCE YOU MUST BE OVER 185 CM (6 ft)."
I just went "Umm... I am exactly 170 cm (5.58 ft)"
Then he said it couldn't be possible because I am taller than he is (true) and he is 180 cm. At least that was his height during his army service. I had to show him my height measurement to convince him.
So my question to you ladies and gentlement is....
Actually I do get the you must be over 170 a lot from men rather than women. I know that in front of many European and Americans I have an average height but for most medditereneans I am huge. I am not very fond of wearing high heels in my every day life since I am taller than many men and women even when I wear flat.
I'm 5' 2" also. But, my X was 6' 5" so everyone looks short to me now. I get kind of strange looks I get from guys who are around 6' when I say they don't look all that tall to me.
OK, I've NEVER met a man who admits to being shorter than 5 ft 8. Seriously. I am 5 foot 7. I can be looking down on the bald spot on top of the guys head, and he INSISTS he is 5 ft 8.
I worked with a guy like that -- he insists that he is 5 ft 8 and every time he'd get on an elevator, you'd wanna ask him if he'd like help reaching the top floor buttons. This would mean that I'm 6 ft 3 and I'm not. I'm 5 ft 7...
Lol Kira, I was always suspecting that doctors check on us and go "Woman, let's tell her she is 10cm shorter", "Man, let's tell him he is 15 cm taller"
People guess I'm taller than I am sometimes. More so since I've lost weight. The thinner you are, the taller you look, IF your tall. I think. I don't mind though, I prefer being tall
lol im 5'4 and my sister is 6', my dad is 6'5..my mom is 5'5..im the shortest one out of my family lol so i feel short pretty much all day everyday...its alright though, because i dont hit my head very often.
