Default How do you increase your metabolism?

I have been eating every three hours since Jan 1st and it has increased my metabolism. I have so much more energy and have lost over 50 pounds. I would like to know what others do to increase their metabolism.
Thanks,
Marge

Weightlifting/strength training! I am hungry alllll the time now, but it is definitely worth it because I know my metabolism is speeding up.

I've been trying to exercise 10-15 minutes out of every waking hour. When I do longer stretches (30-45min) I alternate between spurts of quick activity and a regular pace.

Weight training = muscle = high metabolism
That's what I do!!!

My question to you is: how can you measure your metabolism?
Did you speed it for sure or it is just a guess.
You can lose weight for many other reasons. It is not because you lose weight that you metabolism is faster.

Wow that's amazing! Did you exercise as well?

I was going to suggest the three hour thing but you are already doing that- I would encorporate some exercise also if you aren't already

i guess eating every three hours, watching your carb intake, eating the right foods, and weight lifting.

The one thing I wish I could do is exercise twice a day. B/c exercising raises your metabolism for 'X' amount of time after, I think it would be great if I could do 30 minutes before I go to work and then 30 mins after I get home from work. But I am just NOT a morning person :-( However, if you can do it. That might be something to try. And you have already gotten great suggestions like strength training, eating more frequently, and my fitness model says eating more protein also helps to increase your metabolism (something about your body working harder to digest it).

I eat smaller, frequent meals and I also exercise 2-3 times a day for 5-6 days a week. of course, I am no expert and have no idea if it helps my metabolism but it is helping me shed pounds and that counts somewhere, right?
