Me personally I do not have this issue with my scale. It's up to you if you feel you need a new one or not- but just a fair warning if it's acting up it MAY be giving you a totally wrong weight so when you get your new one be prepared to weigh more than this old scale says (if you are lucky less).

Is your scale on a flat surface? If you have tiles that are large try to put it on one tile, not split between multiple tiles.
