I hope you try not to deprive yourself this time around and instead find options that work for you. I mean, I have chips or a cookie every night for dessert. But it's a whole wheat cookie (sometimes with chocolate chips) and reduced fat kettle-cooked chips. But I need those sweets and I need dessert and having what you love in your new lifestyle will help you stick with it.
Also, over time, you may find there are things you crave less and less as you change your habits and your tastes change.
But don't be afraid to try new things and see if they can work for you. (eg: Before I was always afraid to try something because - gasp! - what if it made me gain?) If you gain, you know not to eat it again, but tweaking like that is how you'll find things you enjoy and will help get you a broader menu so you don't feel deprived.
