I read an article about it and bought a brush at Bath and Body Works a couple months back. It's either a combination of that, the firm skin lotion , and losing bit more weight... but one of those things is REALLY making a difference in the appearance of the skin on my thighs and tummy! The cellulite on my legs is nearly gone! It's so noticeable that hubby even commented on it and he's the most unobservant person on the planet!
Not to mention it feels good on dry itchy summer skin .
I've been doing it for about a month now and all I have seen is that my skin has gotten rather thin looking.
How long have you been oing it?
Also, what is the firm lotion?
The lotion I'm using is by Jergens, I think? It's called skin firming lotion and it has collegen etc. in it. I don't know if it's just a gimmick but it seems to be working. Even if it is, I like the lotion
I love skin brushing! I have KP (those tiny little red bumps) on my arms and legs, and I find that brushing, along with a mild salicylic acid body wash, really help clear it up. I'm not sure I buy into it as a detox method, but it sure does feel good!
wow. i'd never heard of dry skin brushing before. i just read up on it really quickly and i'm definitely interested. will try and pick up a brush at bath and body works this week.
I've been dry skin brushing off & on since I moved to the desert five years ago. I know that when I am doing it on a regular basis I see and feel a huge difference. I love the tingle of all that blood rushing to the surface.
Thanks for the reminder.... I'm going to pull my brush out now.
According to my sister it is working because I no longer have the "puffy, swollen" look I had before.
After she said that I took a good look and while my cellulite is still there - lol - I do look less swollen.
I still think it makes my skin look thin because now all my veins are super visible - they way the normally only look when I am thin.
I'm interested in this as I also have KP on my arms. We dont have Bed Bath & Beyond in Canada but my brother often goes to the states and may be able to stop there for me.
Is this the brush that you gals use? If not.. can you direct me to the proper link? Thanks
And this is the moisturizer that I use: 4% AHA with 10% Urea. I just started using it religiously, so I haven't seen great results yet... but I'm thinking the combination with the dry skin brushing + this cream may do the job? http://www.sweenstore.com/atractain.html

I found this thread because I had a question about dry body brushing - how do you do it? I read towards the heart, so I brush up one leg, up the other, up the bottom half of my torso, then up each arm and then across my shoulders and down, but not across my chest. Does that sound right?
I'd never heard of dry brushing until bumping into this thread. Was very curious so bought a brush at Winners (Canadian version of Marshall's), googled the technique and started yesterday...after doing it again today, wow, do I ever feel great afterwards!! Hope to see skin improvements in a month or so.
The brush I bought is not natural fibre but it's very soft so I figure it's ok. Also, I read about the technique at this link:
