Default June Exercise Accountability Thread!

Welcome to the exercise accountability thread for June 2009. Whether you walk, run, swim, cycle, bellydance, or shred, let's get it done!

This thread is to keep us accountable and keep us motivated and above all to keep us moving! All are welcome, and feel free to join the thread at any time. Some people post a goal for the month, some just keep track of what they do every day. It's not important how you do it, we just need to do it!!

Since the weather is getting better and better, we have no excuses. Grab your runners, your bike, your yoga mat, your friends, your family, your dog--and get out there and be active!

I was just wondering where the June exercise accountability thread was. And lo & behold, it appeared.

Never doubt the power of the Mango.

Again, my plan is to do at least an hour of exercise every day. I hope to run a few miles out of doors on the state park trails on the weekends, but I'll have to conserve my feet carefully throughout the week by using the gym at my office & the commercial gym near my home. (Oh, the monotony of peddling the bike.) Also, since I'm paying for a rather costly gym membership in a rather costly neighborhood, I really want to try some of their various free classes in the evenings. The yoga class last week was incredibly challenging, compared with the yoga instructor I had before in another venue, who was far more into meditation & breathing. I want to try two other classes besides the yoga class during the month of June.

1: One hour bike, weights
2: One hour bike, one hour yoga class
3: One hour bike, weights
4: One hour bike [getting bored with this, but trying to rest my left foot]
5: 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes bike, weights
6: One hour elliptical, walking around the Village for a few hours today
7: One hour swim class, weights, 30 minutes bike
8: One hour bike
9: One hour bike, weights, one hour yoga class
10: One hour bike
11: 45 minutes elliptical, 15 minutes bike, weights
12: One hour elliptical
13: 45 minutes on treadmill (including running 5K in about 35 minutes), 20 minutes elliptical, weights
14: One hour swim class
15: One hour elliptical, weights
16: 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes bike
17: One hour bike, weights
18: One hour bike
19: 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes bike
20: 45 minutes on treadmill (5k in just about exactly 35 minutes), 15 minutes bike
21: One hour swim class, weights
22: One hour bike
23: One hour bike
24: One hour bike, weights
25: One hour bike
26: One hour elliptical, weights
27: One hour elliptical
28: One hour swim class, weights
29: One hour bike
30: One hour bike, weights

July 1st: One hour bike, weights (just so I remember till the July thread goes up)

I set my May goal for 24 days of exercise and 1400 minutes. I did 24 days but didn't quite get all the minutes in. I think for June I will shoot for 24 days of exercise and 1300 minutes.

1: 65 minutes boxing boot camp
2: none
3: none
4: 37 minutes elliptical
5: 47 minutes treadmill
6: 45 minutes elliptical
7: 45 minutes elliptical
8: 65 minutes boxing boot camp
9: none
10: none
11: none
12: 40 minutes running on treadmill
13: 42 minutes elliptical plus 60 minute walk (102 minutes total)
14: 60 minutes elliptical
15: 65 minutes boxing boot camp
16: none
17: 60 minute dance class (called dance party x-treme!)
18: 60 minutes latin dance class
19: 35 minutes running on treadmill
20: 45 minutes elliptical
21: 35 minutes running on treadmill
22: 65 minutes boxing boot camp
23: none
24: 60 minutes weight and step class
25: 60 minutes latin dance class
26: 60 minute walk
27: none (went out of town and having trouble fitting exercise in--gah!)
28: 30 minute swim
29: none
30: 45 minute run in 100% humidity (HOUSTON!) plus another 45 minute walk because pool was closed due to thunder.
Hoping to get another swim in later today but I'm definitely not reaching my June goals....

Minutes in June: 1182
Days in June: 21

Didn't reach either of my goals (days or minutes) due to many reasons. Will have to decide what to make July goals to be.....

A newbie here - I started a weight training routine last month and my goal was to do it 2x/week. For June I want to up it to 3x/week - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. I'm still doing lots of walking and other cardio, but I need the most accountability for my strength routine b/c that actually requires getting myself to the gym, and I don't find it as fun as cardio. But I do find myself feeling stronger, and I know increased muscle = better fat burning, so that keeps me doing it.
Let's make it a great month!!!
