Default I explored my new gym today

and it looks good.

I was supposed to go last week for induction but had to cancel because of the allegedly dying dog (who is skipping round her world like a young lamb at the moment! ).
I rescheduled for today but this morning I felt so light-headed and woolly-footed that I didn't dare exercise. (Blood tests on Friday).
I wanted to keep the appointment though because you know how it goes, cancel, cancel, cancel, forget all about it....

So it's quite a small, ladies only gym, about 20 mins drive from here. The members I've seen so far are all 'ordinary' - i.e. like me , not posers, not ultra-fit.

There's probably only 4 of each piece of equipment but the time I'll be going, due to work and traffic, turns out to be their quiet time, so should be no problem. There are 3 showers and a communal changing room - but...... everything is absolutely spotless and well maintained; they'll design me a programme and update it regularly without incurring 'personal trainer' costs, which some of the big gyms charge at the drop of a hat; they understood my concerns about going to a gym where the instructors understood about health issues like hbp and so on.

So I'm going back next week for the real induction - I could have done it today, it was me that cancelled because of the woollifoot.

And! the gym is right next door to a really good shopping mall! Excellent, huge supermarket, lots of little shops, especially ones that sell cheapy clothes, the kind I Will buy as I shoot down the pounds, and a healthfood store. Result!

Congrats Ailidh on finding such a great gym: **** I wish I could find me one of those! I am yet to go to a gym that wasn't:
a) Completely overpriced.
b) Filled with posers who spend 2 hours yammering about how 'fat' they are... Yeah weighing 125 instead of 105 is like soooo fat....
c) In really bad shape complete with the 'ewww' factor!
d) In an unsuitable area and off-route!

It's great that they will design you a program with all those extra costs!

For now I'm stuck with a TV room and garage that looks like a mini gym. :-(

Congrats on finding your new, cool gym! I absolutely love mine. It is a Gold's Gym, so it is big, new, and shiny! ha! It offers a lot, so it makes me very happy!

Good luck to you!

Wow, that sounds great. Going to the shopping mall will be good motivation to get you out there regularly (it would be for me, anyway!).
