Default too good to be true???

Everyone says the first 2 weeks of South Beach are hard but I am finding
the diet so easy I wonder if I am doing it right. Too soon to tell if the pounds are coming off. After 4 days I think I have lost 2 pounds but you know how things can fluctuate.
I am eating eggs/lean meats/veggies/salad/low fat cheese/nuts/one cup of morning coffee/a tiny bit of 2% cottage cheese.
Is any of this not on phase 1???

I don't think there's a limit on coffee.

SBD is a great way of life!

Caffeinated beverages are supposed to be limited to 2 per day, but I have lost well taking in more than that. I thought Phase I was easy too, except for the one day with the "SB flu". I really enjoyed feeling full on this plan. Good luck!

I found it fairly easy the first time on phase I, but I think that was because the week prior to phase I, I had begun slowly phasing out the carbs and other non phase I foods that I had been eating.

Congrats on your success so far!

Nancy! You've read the book, right? If not, you really, really need to. This diet relies so much on your ability to see how your body reacts to food after learning about things from the book that if you don't read, you'll be lost.

That said, congrats on doing so well! If you've been eating healthy for a while, this might not be enough of a change for you to cause problems. Just make sure you get water, eat good carbs (bell peppers, tomatoes, beans, dairy), and take it easy in P1. You'll do great!

beachgal...
I have read most of the book..I am finishing the last few chapters.

I think I was already eating fairly low carb because I was doing Weight Watchers core.

I ate a few things I shouldn't have tonight when we went out but
not too much damage.

We have a new puppy who is putting on pounds so every night I hold her and we both weigh to see if her gain and my loss are canceling each other out. She is beating me !!

I've read that if you are eating enough, you will not feel hungry, sick, deprived, or bad in any way. The SB flu really means you are missing something in your diet. I can't remember if I read that in the book or on another SB message board, but if you are feeling good, following the diet and losing weight it sounds like you are doing just fine!

For one week I was excellent...even traveling.

then I allowed myself a few fries while eating out
then fixed dirty rice for the kids (quess who also ate it)
then we ate out tonight...(actually did fair but not excellent)

urgg...

Funny thing is I was doing good on core diet last summer until my son left for college in the fall and I was depressed and ate.
Now I was doing good til he came home from college and I want to fix his favorite foods...

See it isn't my fault it is his
