A new perspective on mini goals

  • I think every single one of us, just by being here, has made a mini goal. The mini goal of taking that step to say "yes I deserve it, yes it will be hard, but oh....it will be so worth it". That resolve, be it new or recommitted, to be good to ourselves, and swallow that "magic pill" of dedication, fitness, and health. Or maybe its that new piece of exercise equipment you just got - like me. I've wanted an elliptical and I finally got one (now just to get on the darn thing, that will be my next mini goal post lol). Or that renewed hope inside yourself...instead of saying "this is so impossible" we now say "this IS possible!" Every day can be a mini goal, in my book. Every good choice we make, every time we make ourselves get that rump moving instead of rotting on the couch, every time we reach for fruit instead of starbucks, and every time we tell ourselves "you can do it" instead of "man this is going nowhere". And every time we ignore that evil little voice that lies to us and says "just start tomorrow" (I see some eyebrows raising out there) How many tomorrows has it been? And you know what girls... no matter where you are, mini goals are not measured in inches or pounds or even how many steps on our pedometer. They are measured in every moment of our days, because all those moments and mini goals comprise the elation we will all feel when we finally get there. And never have to look back.
