How do you stay accountable for your diet/exercise plan? I'm trying to avoid joining WW but am having trouble only answering to myself...

I am not sure if it can help you, but what helps me a lot is writing my blog, I want to write everyday and not skip one, and also I am not willing at all to write 'wrong' meals and show off I didn't stick to my plan, so it helps me a ton.

I Have the same problem, but maybe these points might help..
  • write down on daily basis what you did and what you ate? either in a blog or in a dairy
  • give your self small targets, such as weekly for both food and exercise
  • Choose a buddy to motivate you and help put you on track, either from people around you or here...

I hope this helps.
I'm trying it my self, I lost track a couple of times..
Good luck...

I keep a spreadsheet that shows everything I ate, how much I exercised, my daily / weekly / monthly weight loss, and graphs. Being able to see my progress and know what made it happened helps me a lot.

I use myfitnesspal.com and fatsecret.com to keep me accountable for everything I eat. If I eat something I shouldn't I don't lie about it, I write it down. I think rockinrobin said something like this..."You bite it, you write it!" and that's what keeps me accountable. It also helps to see how you can tweak your food, for example, if you notice your sodium intake is high or something like that. I also journal whatever is on my mind. I don't hold anything back, so that helps too.

I think your quote says it all! If you want it badly enough, you will dig down deep and find it...and use it.

I got involved in the April Weight Loss Challenge and the April Exercise Challenge under "Chicks Up for a Challenge" right here at 3FC, and I post everyday to keep myself accountable. I've always had trouble with motivation and this really works! If you'd like to jump in on one or both of these challenges, it's never too late! Or there are lots of other challenges to choose from. They are all on this page: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=159.

I use one of those free planners that banks give every year.
You can write down what you ate and when you exercised in the day and time you did them. It fits in my back pocket like a small checkbook. So I have it with me all the time.

sparkpeople.com

It really helps seeing everything broken down into cals and nutrients. It gives me a daily target and I mind not hitting it!
