Default I'm a little excited

I have officially lost my first 10 pounds...it took me 7 weeks of exercising 6 days a week and also keeping a food log...I wish I didn't always feel like I wish it was more...I'm just trying to keep telling myself...I'm on the right track.

I really need to be on here more at least for the support and also the inspiration.

It's sometimes so hard to see the finish line and realize it's so far away!

that's a great job!
we always wish it will come off faster, but like someone else was saying, just take it 10 lbs at a time.

what type of workouts are you doing? i've found that when i include weight lifting, i lose weight alot faster. that might help keep you motivated if you are not already doing that. even just 1/2 an hour 2 days per week seems to make a difference.

but don't be discouraged, it is a hard road and you are doing well!

10 lbs! That's great! I've been at this (this time around anyway) just one week and I am one pound down. I've got to do this one pound at a time or I'll get really discouraged and give up. I think 10 lbs is wonderful! Isn't this a great place for support? I'm so glad I wandered in here? BTW what are you doing for exercise? I've got to ramp up my efforts, but with 1 full time and 1 poart time job and 3 dogs and a daughter who is going off to college next year and a DH, I don;t have a lot of time. I like the suggestion of doing weight training a couple of times per week. Any other ideas out there?

10 lbs is awesome!

One lb at a time is how I look at, otherwise I go nuts. I'd rather think one lb at a time to 49 which is how far I have till go.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement...it makes me feel so much better!!

As for my workout..I do strength training/weights on M,W,F and that takes me about 40 minutes and then I do 30 minutes of cardio after that...and on T,Th,and Sat...I only do Cardio for 45- 60 min...I alternate between the bike, elliptical, treadmill, and stair stepper... I'm hoping to begin adding a class in somewhere in the next month.
I worked with a trainer for the first 5 weeks to get a routine going and I'm hoping to pick that back up too after I save a bit more money

The main thing that I really enjoy is that everyone at my gym is sooooo nice and friendly so it makes it a bit easier to keep coming...I just have to learn to be satisfied with mini goals...

One of my friends told me that if losing 40 pounds was my goal...I'm 1/4th of the way there...and that just sounds a lot better!

well, now that i think about it, 10lbs in 7 weeks is right on target. they say healthy permanent weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week, so you are actually loosing just over a pound a week.

alternating cardio is good, that way it's not as treacherous. sounds like you're doing everything correctly, you are sure to have success. I hired a trainer for 3 weeks and it was well worth the investment. she said that it was a good idea to get back with the trainer periodically so they can evaluate your progress and fine tune your work outs.

good job, keep up the good work!
