Thanks for the wake-up, Little Chick. I need to get cranked up so I can get the trash out to the road. After that, it'll be my usual pre-Donna tidying. I sure hope she shows as she's needed. The dogs keep bringing in twigs and leaves stuck to their coats.

Back later.

TGI Thursday! We're almost through the week, and this next weekend is one I"m really needing.

It's going to be a rainy day here. Both the girls are finally on the road to recovery but they're still pretty fatigued, so we'll just have a quiet day. We've been reading Little House In the Big Woods, and they are thoroughly enjoying it. If they are up to it tomorrow, we'll go to the library to check out the next book in the series.

I'm trying to get a couple of loads of laundry done before I leave this morning. It's just amazing how quickly the dirty laundry piles up, I just did it the other day. I should put on a pot of soup for supper tonight, but I just don't feel like it. I know I'll regret it when I get home this evening!

ETA -

Good morning LC and Ruth!

I keep forgetting to do my laundry, LOL
You ever notice that just bed clothes makes like 2 extra loads of laundry? Well for me it's 3 because I got a mattress cover too.

BTW, hello everyone! I almost forgot about this forum, it shows I haven't been here since November, lol.. that's alright though because I've been busy with sis and my first adorable nephew that was just born on Feb. 13th. Now I have someone to make little faces at all the time, LOL

Well I am going to run for now as I need to get the kids ready for school. I will pop back in at quiet time. Hope you all have a great day chicks.

Laundry! I just realized the dinner napkins are still in the dryer - from the dinner party more than a week ago. Luckily they were bone dry so I don't have to deal with mildew. When you live by yourself (and have 42 pair of undies!) you don't need to do laundry as much.

Just took out the trash and realized it's NOT raining. You sure could have fooled me! I guess the dark equated to rain. We are getting showers later so it'll be a muddy paw day for Donna.

OK, Beachies, let's crank up Thursday!

Good morning I'm a little slow moving this morning. I'm sure glad there's coffee

LC - Hope you get some time to relax and recover today. Are you a home child care provider? I work with lots of people around here who do that and have so much respect for them. Some of them provide really great care but wow, what a huge amount of work!

Cottage - Glad the girls are feeling better. I'm counting down to the weekend too.

Ruth - It's so nice of the dogs to help you decorate

I saw crocuses yesterday! I finally got out for a walk in the afternoon (went to the coffee shop) and we saw a yard full of crocuses with daffodil buds showing yellow. It really is spring.

After the crazy busy week I get to spend all day today in a boring meeting. How do I know it's boring? I go every month and it's always dull! Ah well, it's a nice drive if the weather holds and I might take the longer route to look for birds. Unfortunately no real lunch break so I won't even get a walk mid-meeting.

Now that my neck is better I pulled the 30 Day Shred DVD out. OMG, that thing is a killer. I was more exhausted after 25 minutes than I usually am after an hour working out. All I can say is that better build some muscle!

Time to figure out breakfast and a packed lunch (they are ordering sandwiches at the meeting). Have a good day all

LOL Cyndi, ya that Jillian Michaels is a killer. I tried it a few times and I was out of breath and SORE. She kicks ur butt, lol

Have you lost any on the 30 day shred or seen improvement, or has it only been a few times you exercised to it?

I'm baaaack!!! Good morning, everyone! It's nice to be able to pop back in. I was able to get on the internet for all of 10 minutes since last Friday. Actually, I missed all of you, but not the internet!

LC: Thanks for getting us started this morning. I'm sorry you're stressed out and hope you have a nice, calm day (if that's possible with all the kiddos there)!

Ruth: Ah! What a blessing 42 pairs of undies must be! Enjoy your day and I hope it doesn't get too muddy.

Cottage: Sounds like you've had some sickies to deal with. I'm glad they're recovering now. Enjoy the rest of Little House in the Big Woods. It's definitely one of my favorites of hers.

Jelly: Congrats on your new nephew! It's great to see you back here!

Cyndi: I hope the drive to your boring meeting produces some great bird sightings. I'm really glad your neck is feeling better!

Me: Well, what can I say? We had a BLAST in San Antonio!! We went to an awesome nail-biter Spurs game, ate at our favorite Hill Country restaurant with the family, went to a gig that a few of our college buddies was playing at, did a LOT of shopping and did a LOT of eating. I have no clue what the scale says and I don't want to know. I'll be sticking to my plan flawlessly from here on out and my next goal check in is April 1st, so I'll just be waiting until then to visit Mr. Scale.

We got back around 3 pm yesterday, so I had time to get 100% unpacked and get clothes picked out for today and Friday so that I was sure I didn't need to do laundry. We spent yesterday evening on the Wii Fit that my parents gave us as an early anniversary present. It won't be taking the place of any of my current workouts, but I'll slip it in a few days a week as a supplement.

Okay, okay. Enough rambling on for me. Time to hit the shower and get ready for work! I hope everyone to come has a wonderful Thursday!!!

I wish Jillian Michaels would come to my house and kick my a**. I realized that the kids will be on a better schedule next year when my youngest starts middle school - they will all be out of the house by 7:30, so I will be able to fit in a trip to the gym and be back before 9. Then I realized I didn't need to wait until fall, as they will just be sleeping in when summer starts and I don't need to be here for that. So June 15, I can get started. Maybe I'll get a trainer. There, I said it and you chicks can help hold me to it. Still need to keep moving between now and then, though.

Last night's meeting was funny, but I managed to avoid becoming chairperson. It went horribly wrong for my friend though, as I think it will end up being her. I am good at deflecting. I feel a little guilty but I will just try and be as helpful to her as I can.

Welcome "home" Kim, glad you had fun.

Ya, I love Jillian Michaels. I thought several times about signing up to be on The Biggest Loser on tv, but it's a couples thing and my mom or sis or anyone wouldn't come on with me to do it. I wish they'd do an individual season again.

Thanks for starting us up, LC! I have my English Breakfast tea at hand and am trying to wake up. I feel a bit like our dog, who looked drunk trying to sleepily walk downstairs this morning. Sending you virtual Cold Eeze so you won't get sick!

Time for the hoover, eh, Ruth? Hope all is neat and tidy by the afternoon so you can sit and relax with the pups!

Cottage, you are such a dear! It's a shame DH can't make YOU dinner tonight as you've been working so hard lately! I absolutely LOVED the Little House books as a child. They were my absolutely favorites and I read them over and over! Beware, though, that the second book is a bit different from the other ones--it features the childhood of Laura's husband, Almanzo Wilder, who grew up in upstate New York with a prosperous farming family. The main reason to beware is that this is the "Hustler" of food porn for those of us who like sweets and carbs. Seriously. Just wait until the descriptions of homemade donuts, stacks of 12 pancakes just for one person, pie for breakfast... I think part of my obsession with food started with that book! It's a wonderful one, though...I especially loved his tenderness and relationship with the farm animals.

Oh, Cyndi, I hate boring meetings! Any chance you could do something productive (like write a letter, journal, or write a story) on a pad during the meeting while making it look like you're intently taking notes? I just hate wasted time! Hope you see some beautiful birds on your drive! We have crocuses here, too, and little green shoots are coming up for grape hyacinths and daylillies, but no sign of daffies or anything else yet. I'm so excited for spring!!!

Hi, Jelly!

Welcome back, Kim! We missed you! I envy you the Wii Fit! I got to play with it a little at my PT appointment a couple weeks back and I think I could really enjoy using it! Hope you have fun with it.

Schmoo, good for you on avoiding the chairperson duty. Your friend could avoid it too, if she wanted, so don't feel bad. It's crazy how much we all tend to take on just because of guilt! Glad you've figured a way to fit the gym in starting in the summer. Great time to do it!

Me:
Well, it actually was raining here this morning, Ruth, but it stopped. I loved it--Spring rain is my absolute favorite! I have gym after work today and then back later on for yoga. DH got the parts for the water heater, but we decided to wait a day and see if it was leaking as it hadn't done anything overnight. It did leak, but not much, so we've decided to wait until Saturday to do the repairs as it's much easier than doing it late after a full day of work.

Good morning chatty ones! Happy Thursday!

LC - Hope your early morning equals a productive day.

Ruth - 42 pairs of underwear?!?!? I think they have a support group for that!

Cottage - Glad to hear that the girls are enjoying the book. I hope they continue to feel better.

Jelly - Welcome back! Congrats on the new nephew!

Cyndi - Sorry you've got a dull meeting today. I hope it doesn't drag too long.

Kim - Sounds like you had a great time on your trip!

Schmoodle - Congrats for getting out of the meeting without any new responsibilities. I hope the new fall schedule will be as easy as you hope it will be!

Linda - Enjoy your gym workout tonight!

Me - 2 IEPs, a meeting, and a senior/parent dinner today at work. So I will be a busy bee today. Speaking of bees, while stopped at a red light yesterday, I was surrounded by a swarm of them. Construction workers on the corner must have unearthed a nest, because they were everywhere. Gave me the willies!!!
Hope you all have a good day!
BLESSINGS!

Whew, Heather, that would give me the willies, too! I love what bees do, but am not very calm when they're in my space... Good to see you--it's been a while, eh?

Chickies, a bunch of people piped up in the Ziploc Omelet thread about wanting to try it but being concerned about heating plastic bags. I posted a couple of ideas, but I'm not sure if they would work. Would you mind popping in to add your own thoughts? I hate eggs, so I have no experience cooking them and am unsure what would work. If anyone has experience with canning, that would help you evaluate one of my ideas, which uses canning jars. Thanks!
