Default Hungry...

Hi guys...

So day three on SBD and I am sooooo very hungry today!! And I've already eaten my afternoon snack..I couldn't wait any longer. Am I doing something wrong?

This is what I've eaten today..

Omelette made w/two eggs, diced onions & peppers & cheese. 2 cups of coffee w/1% milk and splenda

Snack: String Cheese

Lunch: Lettuce wrap, w/ham, swiss cheese, and pickle & 1/2 a cucumber w/salt & pepper

Snack: 15 Peanuts

Any thoughts....I really don't want to go off plan...but its hard when I'm so hungry...right now I could easily take down 1/2 a loaf of bread!! Won't bud I easily could!!

Also...I have a weight watchers yogurt in the fridge at work (from before I started SBD...) Is this okay to eat....to replace my afternoon snack that I already ate??

THANKS!!!

Hi, you should not let yourself get hungry on ph 1, did you only have one lettuce wrap? Have you been drinking your water cause you may be thirsty, but my guess would be you have not eaten enough at lunch you may want to try some beans or lentils, yogurt, more veggies etc

If you are hungry then you should eat. This plan does not require you to count calories or go hungry. You could have some beans, a glass of skim milk, some yogurt or cottage cheese, raw veggies with hummus, a hard boiled egg. You need to include some dairy, beans, healthy fats, and LOTS of veggies (at least 4 1/2 cups/day) to fill you up. If you are on phase I, I'd stay away from that ww yogurt. It may have starches in it for thickeners. Day 3 - 5 of Phase I are the toughtest IMO, so you don't need to be hungry on top of that to make it more difficult.

Lharvey, that's not a lot of food after breakfast (which looks GREAT, by the way!). Maybe you can add some veggies or beans in to your snacks? That helps fill you up. Like what about a bunch of cucumber rounds dipped in yogurt dip or celery with laughing cow cheese? If you are hungry, please eat something, but make sure it has veggies in it--especially the kind that fill you up (i.e. not lettuce).

Avoid the yogurt. It has sugar and fruit, both no-nos on Phase 1. You could have plain yogurt (make sure it doesn't have sugar) with SF syrup in it, though. But you definitely need some veggies--especially those that help with cravings, like bell peppers and tomatoes. I love eating grape tomatoes with string cheese--it's like an Italian caprese salad!

That said, day 3 is always the hardest for me. It takes me three days to detox from the sugar, and I find that on day 3, it's like the gremlins know no more sugar is forthcoming and they revolt! (I know, it's a silly image!) If I just get through Day 3, though, I feel SO much better. Hope it's the same for you. Here's some to help...but do eat some beans and veggies. Try 1/2 can of FF or Vegetarian refried beans mixed with some SF salsa and LF cheese and microwaved. It's delish!

Yeah...it was just one lettuce wrap that I ate. I just guzzled a large glass of water and I'm feeling a little less hungry. I don't have access to any more food today though..until 6:00 when I get home from work. ACK!! That's another 4 hours or so....

Probably no consequences for your weight loss, but it may start up your sugar cravings again. Just be aware.

If you are at work and have access to a vending machine, go get more peanuts. This is just my opinion, but if you are going to overeat, eat more fat (peanuts, jerky), not simple carbs (sugar, bread, chips).

Good luck! If I were closer, I'd bring you food!

Try downing a big glass of water...you're likely experiencing some sort of craving, especially after eating that yogurt. I find that sweet things in the afternoons cause me to crave like crazy and eventually overeat.

Drink the water and busy yourself with something, it will pass.

Good for you not getting anything out of the vending machine. Tomorrow just pack lots of stuff to bring with you. It is better to have to much than not enough. It takes lots of planning but you can do it.
