Default Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass - 10 Days Post Op

Hey All,

I have had my Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery 10 days ago. I am all okay now. I am dropping weight. And oh so very happy. This was the best choice for me. I have no other alternative. I have been on every diet u can think of, and yet chocolate cake would never leave my mind. But now? I have no desire for junk, I love my water, and my soft foods.... I am a much happier person... I even stopped smoking......I was a 1 pack per day gal.... but NO MORE! Thank god. only god has made me feel strong... good luck to all who are considering it. It might not be for everyone.... but it was deff for me.

WOW congrats on doing so well, blu. and stopping smoking at the same time!!! you're my IDOL today!!!

but would you mind terribly if i gave you a little reality check here????? don't want to burst your bubble, but you're still VERY much in the STUNNED phase - not even in that glorious 3 -6 month honeymoon phase!!! ya got a bit of healing to do - and then the fun begins.

soooo - later on - when things get a little tougher and the head hunger kicks in, or every single thing you put in your mouth just won't stay down - remember these golden days!!!!!

Yeah - that is what I am excited for....being able to shop at normal size departments.... I have been 22w- 24w for a long long time, and sometimes 20, but very rare..........and sometimes 26w-28w, scary for me,... I am hoping that someday, I can see that change.... what do you think? I will get to a 14 one day?

Hi, xbubloox-congrats on your surgery! Keep your positive outlook! My best friend, Lisa, had her bypass surgery a year ago and she is down to her goal and has lost 110 pounds, without one adverse reaction. Occasionally she would overindulge and get a stomach ache, but that just reminded her that she had to be more aware of making wise choices.

Anyway, keep up the good work and stay positive. Hopefully, you'll be one of those people who sail through too!

I'm surprised you're on the computer after 10 days. I thought I had died, lol. I guess it's different for everyone. Don't let yourself be fooled, the desire to eat crap may come back after some time (but you'll probably throw it up and vow never to eat again).

Good luck with your weight loss! Keep up the great work!
