Default JM's 30 Day Shred: Reanimation

So, I know that last time I was here, there were a handful of ladies going h-core with Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred.
Well, I'm behind the times.
I just got the shred yesterday, and started it today.

1. I thought I'd see if anyone wants to join me in seeing what we can accomplish with it? Keeping tabs, and measurements and such?

2. I wanted to see if anyone else started to feel faint on their very first time working their way through it? Lol. I started to get a teensy bit o' tunnel vision and had to stop for a moment. I must be soooo out of shape, lol..

Instead of letting the fact that I felt a bit sick and faint stop me, I'm gonna push through. Keep going, and hope that soon I'll be able to power through all of level 1!

Goal: I'm a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding in June. The snooty wedding dress woman measured me and said I was about half an inch too big around one of my measurements to wear a size 12 (it wasn't my boobs. Sigh.), so she wanted to order me a 14. I said, "I'm sure you warn against this, but... I've been eating nothing but potato wedges and kraft dinner for about a month. I think we should go for a size 12, because by June, exams will be over, and I'll stop eating like a piggy. "
And she raised an eyebrow and said, "Oookay... But it's a lot harder to let it out than it is to take it in..."

So, I'd like to have her take in the 12 down to an 8 or a 10, as my own personal version of revenge.

Measurements:
Bust: 37
Natural waist: 31
Hips: 39
Thighs: 24

Anyone else in?

I am over the shred. I would do it with you but I just have so much hatred toward it. I know it works but I can't get past how annoyed I feel while I'm doing it.

I will tell you, however, that it does get easier. And yes, I wanted to cry after the first day.

SavingServo:Wootwoot! You shaved off almost half an inch from all your measurements!
How long did you stay in level 1?

Leighish:
Lol, really? Why??

I don't know. I think it's Jillian. She makes me hostile.

Just the 10 days, it got a lot easier by day 6, but I still feel like I would be challenged if I stayed there now. I assume the first day of level 2 will kill me like the first day of level 1 did. I can't really say I'm looking forward to it, but I'm looking forward to the results!

I'm in! in fact, I'm going to go get the hubby to measure me right now because I've been avoiding doing that for at least 4 months.... it's time to face the truth. :s

I really liked the workouts when I was doing them before... they are difficult to perfect but it does get easier. And I also found that having music instead of her voice every day made things a little more fun after you've been doing the workout long enough to know exactly what she's about to say before she says it.

Agreed. I just turn on pandora and the closed captioning. I LOVE workout DVDs with closed captioning exactly for that reason. So few of them have it though.

I'm not a 20 something.. just left that world.. I'm 31.. but I did a search on the forum about the 30 Day Shred to get an idea of the kind of results people are getting with it.. and found your thread, so I hope you don't mind if I join in. I had seen previous threads about it, and bought the DVD based on the recommendations. I did Day 7 of Level 1 today... its getting better and I'm definitely feeling a difference in my body. I never thought to take measurements, but I will now.

I actually prefer Jillian to the annoying ladies who were on the program I used on demand before this. She seems smart, and explains the reasons for doing certain exercises, where as I found the other ladies to be a little too perky.

welcome to the group paperskin!!!

It is a good idea to take some measurements because as quite a few people in here will tell ya, they may not have lost many pounds doing the shred, but they lost lots and lots of inches.

I forgot to ask, do you guys use your shoes in the house when you are doing the Shred or do you do it barefoot?

Paperskin:
Welcome! No one minds either way if you're a 20-something. Meh!
Absolutely join in!
I've been doing it barefoot, but... specifically because my running shoes were stolen at the gym. (Awesome.)

Angeline:
Let me know how you do on your first run of the first day, will ya? I wanna see if I'm just crazy for having such a hard time with it, lol.

As far as I know, any exercise should be done with proper shoes, even if it's in the house. They help absorb shock and helps with your form.

Of course, as I'm typing I'm thinking of ballet and how they are in slippers... but they spend their time on their toes... which is a whole different set of issues i would assume.

I still think it's better to do any exercise with proper running shoes.
