Salty taste in my mouth????
Has anyone ever experienced an overwhelming salty taste in their mouth that you just cannot get rid of?
I started low carb about 10 days ago and for the last week off and on I cannot get the taste of salt out of my mouth ,I am drinking like tonnes of water and the taste is still there it is driving me
I dont know if this is even related to the change in my diet or something else.

I really have no idea what that could be. Are you taking any new medications?

Baygurl,
I have never heard of that. I googled looking for info on it and found this page with info from the Mayo Clinic, http://www.riversideonline.com/healt...at/AN01411.cfm.
Hope it helps!

I'm going to make a completely unsupported suggestion and say that in the past, you have probably never noticed what your mouth tastes like without carbohydrates all the time.
But I do wonder what program you're following, how low your low-carb really is, how many calories, etc. Do you also notice any bad breath?

Yes I just started a new medication about 3 weeks ago for my anxiety/depression/mood disorder.
I also googled it and it said about dehydration, new meds, sinus infection etc I checked out the side effects of this meds and it does not mention anything about weird taste in mouth.
Thank you for the link I will check it out. Maybe it is missing the sugar but I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this then I could rule out the low carb as the culprit.
I am having a bad week with my anxiety so I am not eating that much period which I know is a bad thing .

I'm going to guess it might be your sinuses. (That's what it usually is, with me -- my sinuses flowing or draining or whatever.) Do you have any allergies starting to act up, by any chance?

Around 1200 calories a day Jay but my problem is I am a binge eater and have been for as long as I can remember.
My breakfast consists of a cup of tea, skip lunch because I am not hungry at all, then I have a full plate for dinner and that is it for the night, ofcourse I have tea, water, soda through the day.If i try to eat 3 meals a day It makes me blahh. I have IBS and I will be constantly in the bathroom all day.
