I have realized....
I had a realization last night.... I have lost 56 lbs but still view myself as really overweight! So I had my sudden realization on Valentines Day... I bought some new Lingerie for my boyfriend. I used to be into that sexy stuff when I was 140 lbs, but have no wanted to wear it in years... But I have to say, I put this outfit on, and I felt HOT! I knew I looked good, instead of like a fat, rolly blob of jelly! I didn't want to take it off!
So I'm wondering what realizations you guys have had that make you suddenly realize how much weight you have lost & the changes that you have made to your body on your journey.

Oh come on guys! You've all lost weight! You're smaller than you were when you first started... It makes me sad that 3 of you are not realizing everday you are improving on yourselves and look better than the day before.

Great that you got your sexy back, Extasee (and corazonas too)! And congratulations on your progress, that's amazing work!
To the others - I feel you! For me, it's a bit of a see-saw thing right now. Some days I look in the mirror and am pleased with what I see, some days I feel like I haven't lost anything at all.
My best "new body" experiences usually occur in yoga class when I discover I can do a new pose or hold it longer etc. So I guess it's less of a visual thing for me and more of a functional one for now?

I realized last night that I can cross my legs. I was sitting here with DH and all of a sudden I realized my leg was thrown over my other one and my foot was just a rocking. I was so excited I just started rambling on to DH about how I haven't been able to cross my legs for some years now. Felt good, till my leg fell asleep that is...lol...
But for noticing and feeling better. wellll...others tend to notice more than I do. When people ask how much I've lost I have no problem telling them, but when they ask what I weigh now, I have to stop, think, then respond, because if I jump to tell them quick then it comes out 196, not 176 (i've done that a few times). I still can not get my head wrapped around the fact that I am not that big anymore. oh well, one day.

I was thin when younger, and hated to see pics of me fat, or look in a full length mirror, I was shocked to see how fat I was. Maybe if you have been big all your life, or for many years, you can't see how thin you have gotten.
I am about to go down a dress size tho, and when you have those kind of NSVs you need to see yourself in a new light too.
I AM starting to see the difference 14 lbs made, and for some of you, the difference must be amazing.
Wahoo, getting your sexy back, happy Valentine's day extasee

I'm no where near goal yet. But a week or two ago I stopped myself as I was walking by a mirror because I had not until that moment really seen myself as having lost any weight. But I was struck at that moment by the change in my face. I almost felt like a stranger for a moment. It was a nice startling.

Anyone seen the show, Ruby? After 100lbs lost, she said all she sees is what she still has to lose. I could relate; sounds like some of you ladies can too.
I don't have any photos (too hard to have them), but I try on goal clothes. (An item I buy in my next smaller size and try on once in a while till it fits!)

I realized this weekend that I am no longer plus size. I went shopping and started in the plus dept. out of habit. Everything I tried was too big. It was a great feeling.
