Is it illegal to refuse to hire a 300lb woman to be a stripper?

Race, gender, religion, national origin, disibility, age...these are things that are protected. Not health or size. Should an employer be forced to hire a 300lb airline stewardess? Can you see two 300lb stewardesses trying to pass each other in the aisle while handing out meals or drinks?

Even in states which have laws against size discrimination, employers are still able to do so if size is a implicit or explicit requirement of the job (same for gender and race). This is true for any trait for which there might be anti-discrimination laws. It's not illegal to discriminate, only to discriminate in cases in which the trait is not a legitimate job requrirement. For example, when hiring an actor to play the role of a black man, it's not illegal to pass over a white woman who has tried out for the part.

I think in this case, it's very easy to justify. Would you buy weight loss products or advice from a morbidly obese weight loss counselor? Would you not expect a fitness instructor or personal trainer to be fit?

OTOH who in the world would GO to a weight loss counselor who was overweight? Certainly not I, LOL. In fact, my nutritionist commented to me how she HAS to stay fit, ha.
