Default When will I start seeing results?

I have been sticking to plan mostly for about 3 weeks with only a few slipups. My scale says that I have gone down from 246 to 237, with a total weight loss of about 9 pounds. However, my size 14 jeans from my lowest adult weight last year can't button. After about 9 pounds, wouldn't I notice some difference in my weight?

I know 9 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, but after about 3 weeks I would like to see some form of a result. I hope this post isn't too complain-y.

First of all, congratulations on your loss so far. Nine pounds in three weeks is awesome!

Everyone is different when it comes to weight loss. I didn't notice any difference until I had lost 30lbs and then my jeans started to get loose. Some people start noticing the difference right away, some people take a while longer. Depends on your height and body shape.

Don't give up or get discouraged! Keep up the good work and eventually you will see the results you are looking for.

It's tough, but just be patient. I have lost 25 lbs and STILL have not gone down a size in clothes and my bra size is nowhere near going down yet.

It's so frustrating, but don't get TOO frustrated that you give up, slow and steady wins the race.

The way that I try and look at the time it takes is that the time is going to pass ANYHOW, you might as well spend it losing the weight (no matter how long it may take) and getting healthy.

I had lost 22 lbs from sept to thanksgiving. After thanksgiving I only cheated a tiny bit for the holidays but I didn't lose a SINGLE POUND for a month and a half. I switched my diet around and lost 3 lbs in a week. The important thing is that I stuck with it all that time without seeing a single loss. I knew it would come! That, and honestly, on this diet I FEEL so much healthier and I don't eat till I'm sick anymore, and it feels great to learn to stop when you're full!

don't give up, you will see a difference sooner or later.

Id say I had lost over 25 lbs before I went down a size in jeans.

God bless you for even being able to get a 14 above your knee caps (not that I have tried...LOL). 9lbs is AWESOME!!!!! I usually have to lose 30lbs. before I even notice a difference. Keep up the fantastic work and those 14's will button sooner than later!

I'm still wearing the same size and I've lost 13-15 lb (ticker says 11, but I'm weighing in at WW tomorrow, my scale says I lost but my official weight I won't know till tomorrow) ...However, my rings don't fit anymore, my face is definitely not as chubby, my back boobs have gotten smaller AND most importantly my first fat roll (above the belly button) is getting smaller. I'm with you,though....I want to be seeing the difference in sizes, darn it!!

Once the results start happening they have a snowball effect and you'll be overwhelmed with new changes. Keep at it! 9 pounds is awesome!

You're doing great! Sometimes it does take a little while to really see the results. It might start by your clothes feeling a little looser. It took me a good 40 lbs to really start seeing results. I started out at 278.

When I lost 30 pounds, I was finally able to go down from a 26 jean to a 24 jean. However, I lost in odd places. My upper stomach shrunk quickest and my buns were not as close to the floor.

I've lost almost 25lbs and still can't tell!! I'm the same size pants but they fit a little better. My mom tells me my face and back look thinner, but I can't see it! Last time I lost a lot of weight, I had to lose 50lbs for people to really notice!

I've lost 25 lbs and still haven't gone down a full size yet... I'm really big though so I would think it would be a while before I really started to fit into a smaller size. Be patient

I usually lose in my stomch last so even if pants are getting loose in the legs they usually fit about the same in the waist area. It is frustrating for sure! Right now I am a very tight 14 and I can't wait to be a 12!

It took me longer to go down a size while I was heavier, even though I was losing faster. Higher sizes seem to generally accommodate a larger weight range. That makes sense if you think of things in terms of percent change. A 5% change from 250 pounds would be 12.5 pounds, but at 140 would only be 7 pounds.

It took me 45 lbs before I was able to go down a size in jeans. I lost weight all over so my shirts got loose after 20lbs. My face, arms, back and rib area showed the loss but not my but or stomach. Don't give up! You are doing great!
