Hey,
i found this wonderful website put up by the monterey bay aquarium if anyone is concerned about the fishing and farming methods used on the fish they buy.
i was very pleased to find that the wild caught alaskan cod i bought at trader Joes yesterday is on the list for a 'best choice'
of course, i think TJ's is environmentally conscious in all their products, but it's good to double check.
I am always concerned about where my fish comes from. I try to buy wild-caught vs farmed shrimp. And since I live in Alaska and many of my friends are commercial salmon fisherpeople, and my DH catches all we need, I would never, never buy farmed salmon (nor do they sell it here, except canned). As one friend says: "Friends don't let friends buy farmed salmon."
