Default 10% Goal

How many times have had to hit your 10% goal for it to "stick"? I got 10% the week before Christmas and now I am a pound away again....argh

Responses don't always come as quickly as you'd like, but trust me - you are not alone. I went over and under a couple of times before I actually stuck to the downward trend. Same with the 30lb mark for me - I have gone over and under it at least 5 times in the past two months. There is something mental about hitting "milestones" in my WL journey, I get really excited that I met a goal and then get scared of the changes that are happening and overeat for a week to put myself back on the other side. Am working on that.

You're not alone!!! I think just about all of us experence this " hitting it more than once". Sometimes because we sabotage ourselves, sometimes because we exercise and gain muscle ( which weighs more than fat, but causes more weight loss in the end). At any rate you are far from being the only one to go through this. But if we keep on track it will come off!!!

Thanks Judy. I wasn't trying to be impatient ...I also forget that we all aren't in the same time zones. But I asked my WW leader this question and simply states ONCE....with this stern look. Again thanks

I haven't hit my 10% goal yet. I have 8.5 pounds to get to 5%, 17 to get to 10%...and I have goals in between. My first goal is the first five pounds, then 10, 15, 20. But as far as main goals I have my 5%, 10% and goals like that...and when I get to 150 lbs it'll be another goal because that's when I'll be in the healthy weight range for weight watchers.

My weight watchers motto is two steps forward and one step back....but that still equals one step forward! Hang in there...you are not alone!

Thanks everyone. It is just nice to know I am not the only one to struggle with this.

I joined WW last January at 185.2, and hit my 10% goal in June (wow, that took a long time...). Then I bounced around for a while, a little bit up, a little bit down, and summer took over.

I basically just stayed the same for a while, and wasn't very good about attending meetings, but I'm all jazzed up now that it's 2009 so off I went to a meeting last Friday.

Well, I had to rejoin because I'd missed so many meetings, and with a starting weight of 172.6 my 10% is 17 lbs away! Yikes. So instead of making it to 166 (so close!) I've got to get all the way to 155 before I can celebrate my 10%.

I'm going to take better care of it this time...

Wow. What is cool though is that you managed to keep the weight off that you already lost and you don't have to re-lose. Congratulations and welcome back to meetings...

I hit 10% in the fall of 07, if that counts! Then I gained it back... eek! But I remember how good it felt, too bad I took advantage of it!

I have 7 lbs. to go to hit 5% which I would love to do by February 2nd. It's my Groundhog Day Goal! I figure a groundhog probably weighs about 9 lbs. and that's 5% for me!

I hit my 10% in May, and even went a few pounds under it...but alas I gained some pounds back due to not working out. So I guess I will be hitting it more than once!

Well, I did gain some back... not all of it, but still.

Joined Jan 2008 at 185.2
Needed to lose 18 to make the 10%
June 2008 I made it - 166.4
Got down to 165.6

January 2009: 172.6
Need to lose 17 to make 10%
= 155, 11lbs more than previous 10% goal, eek!

It would be nice if I just had to get to 166 again for the 10%, but it's my own d*****d fault, right?

I've gotta get down to 144. It's only 8 more pounds, but it seems impossible! I am at my 5% goal though, so I should be happy about that.
