Default Sweatin' To Metallica

I briefly mentioned this in another post but I was wondering...does there exist a fitness DVD set to rock music? Here in the UK two of the big dance music companies - Ministrty of Sound and Clubland - release fitness DVDs set to their hits, and I'd love to see one for Alternachicks!

Yoga booty ballet is a workout set that I think has a dvd with yoga based moves combined with dance moves set to funky music? I've seen it at Target, and have read good reviews of it.

I haven't seen a commercially available fitness routine with rock music, though one ofs my workout playlists on my iPod includes Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Anthrax, Judas Priest, and slightly out of place with the rest of those, some David Bowie.

I'm probably an Alternachick at heart, I've just never posted much in this part of the forum. Don't know why, I read a lot of it.

I swear to you guys, if I ever get rich or famous, I will make a fitness DVD to rock music.

"Walk" by Pantera, and well, anything by Pantera, is awesome for gymming to!

I know there are Punk Rock Aerobics classes, but they haven't come out with a video. Though they do have a book!

Stranger things have happened. Perhaps if we write to the fitness DVD gods they will do one for us?

I am reminded of a useless piece of trivia right now. The band "Right Said Fred" were created because the two guys were working out and didn't like the choices of work out music that were around at the time.
Some time later "I'm too sexy" was born and the rest is history.

Unfortunately this is of no practical help to us at all.

We could create the ultimate playlist for ipod though!

I'll start with:

1.The Rasmus - In the Shadows. Enough beat in the verses and give you a soaring push in the chorus.

I don't know how you feel about *this* type of workout, but the Carmen Electra Fit to Strip DVD has a "Rock" audio option. It's basically an edgier version of crappy aerobics instrumentals. Better than nothing, I guess.

My version of sweating to Metallica? Shaking my booty while watching them play in concert for two hours...how many calories do you think that burned?

Funny, just the other day I came across this:

Cardio for Indie Rockers

It seems they also have Yoga and Pilates in that series. I haven't got a clue about the quality, although I find the covers too cheesy to be believed...

I totally agree - we need more rock options! I know when I'm walking with my mp3 and have Metallica playing, I walk faster. Just think how fast we'd move to an aerobics workout set to Metallica!

And I saw someone mentioned skip rope? I haven't skipped rope since I was a child, but I know it can burn many calories and get your heartbeat racing. I should definitely consider trying it - thanks a bunch!
