how much weight did you lose before you went down a size in your pants? i realize that this varies but person to person, but i'm just curious. so far i have lost 14lbs and i have noticed my jeans are looser and not leaving a red mark on my belly, but i haven't went down a size yet. i know it will happen and i'm not too concerned with it, but i just wonder what other people notice. even just your clothes fitting better. anybody want to share?
I have been in a 14 for quite a while, at least since hitting 170, so I don't expect the size to get down at least for another 10 lbs, which would be about 17 or 18 lbs from my highest. (highest at 187, now 179-180)
If the jeans we so tight the left a red mark before, they were likely a bit small, and are a good fit now. Keep going, promise it gets better.
I had a friend doing weight watchers, she started at 280, is now about 130, she lost very slowly, (took her 2 years!) and she said the sizes were odd, take forever to lose one size, then less than a month to go down another.
She mostly bought clothes at thrift stores, it got to be too expensive otherwise.
btw, the advantage of it taking so long to lose her weight, was that she did it so slowly, she had to be on her "diet" for so long, she doesn't eat any other way now. It totally changed her way of eating and way of life (exercises regularly now) so she has not had trouble maintaining for the 2 years since she lost the weight.
Starting at 295, size 22, it took about 45-50 pounds before I needed new pants. It seemed like forever at the time. I was crazy eager to get into new clothes! Once I dropped that first size I have found I need new clothes very regularly, no big waiting time anymore.
Now, the smaller the pant sizes are, it seems they get too big very quickly, nothing at all like when I was 200+. It seems I was in a size 12 for only a month or so before dropping to my current size 10, which are already getting loose after only another month.
These days, with the amount of weightlifting I do it doesn't even take many pounds dropped to see a new size. My measurements are changing much more rapidly than my weight. It's odd, I'm in smaller clothes now than I was 15 pounds lighter than I am currently (before I ever gained weight).

mine was at least 40+ lbs from a very tight 24 to a comfy 22
I've lost 35 lbs so far and I have went from a 20 to a baggy 18 or a tight 16. I still pretty much only wear my 18's cause the 16 are just uncomfortable, I generally like my pants a little baggy so they ride on my hips when I wear them, I can't stand pants up anywhere near my belly button! I'm guessing another 5 lbs or so and I will make the switch to the size 16
It was only about 10 pounds for me between size 12 and size 10. But size 18 to size 16 was at least 15 pounds. At higher weights, you'll stay in one size over a wider weight range.

Same for me. I started in a tight 20, regular 22 when I was about 250. Now I'm about 188 or so and I wear a comfy 18, tighter 16. Hoping the 16's will get looser in another 5-10 lbs.
Um I was an Xl at 180, and a Large from 160 and lower.. so that's about a 20 pound difference. I also went from a 13/14 to an 11/12 - tight at 160..
But I hit a fit 11 around 155 and a tight medium... I started to fit into 10's around 145 and a comfy medium and I suspect I could get to a size 7/8 at goal and all mediums
But the rate that my clothes loosen up speeds up as I lose, I think the smaller you are, the less you have to lose to see a difference or drop a size.
