Last night, I went to the fitness center to work out. I had planned on doing 2 to 3 miles on the treadmill and then a couple more miles on the bike. Only the treadmill happened. For the first time, I found myself a bit unsteady on my feet as I walked, and not being able to keep my balance per normal. I also didn't feel as invigorated as I went along and I usually do.
Anyone else ever experience something like this? I almost feel like I missed something in my diet yesterday to make me feel this way. Not sure what else it could be.
Every so often when I'm on the elliptical one of my knees seem to go out and the leg goes all wobbly. I don't fall or anything, but it sure feels funny to me. I know when I haven't had enough water I can feel that way. You may be right about a dietary reason, or maybe your body just wasn't up to it yesterday. Always listen to your body.
Well, I think I drank only 50oz yesterday instead of the 60 or 64oz I'm usually drinking daily now. Guess that could be it, but I just started drinking this much water regularly a week and a half ago. Guess my body is getting used to it and expects it now.
My trainer always tells me to make sure I eat a carb snack before I do a big workout. He says if I don't I might feel dizzy, and certainly less energized.
Yes, carbs are good. One of the symptoms of low blood sugar is dizziness. If you are burning lots of calories in your workout, that could be the problem. Also, plenty of protien in your diet helps to keep blood sugar steady. If the problem persists, you might want to get your fasting blood sugar tested.
Do you have allergies or sinus infections or even a cold?
Several years ago I had symptoms that included not being able to keep my balance, and slurred speech. I was terrified -thought I was having a stroke. Turns out I had a serious sinus infection that was impacting my inner ear. The doctor prescribed me some serious anti-histamines and something to dry me out and the symptoms disappeared within hours. Literally.
So if everything else - water, food, etc. - is in order, then you might consider that your allergies or cold are messing with your balance.

I don't think so... but it's possible. I am prone to sinus infections. And, I just moved up to NC from FL in June, so this area could be affecting me differently. I'll keep this in mind! Thanks.
RangerChic, I also feel this way when I get off the treadmill. I'm new to using the treadmill. I have just passed it off as being on something mechanical for a long period of time.

Well, I've worked out on and off with the treadmill for the last 3-4 months, so I'm not new to it. And, I felt this feeling within a few minutes of getting on. I'm hoping it's just a one-time deal because I like working out on the treadmill.
