Default Cycling Chix --- October!

I thought I'd start up the October cycling chicks thread since nobody else has yet.

------

My BMX is in the repair shop because of a problem with one of the cranks, and it's taking ages which is frustrating. Nevertheless, I know the longer I wait, the more i'll probably appreciate it when I finally do have it back.

Where has everyone been riding these days? Usual routes? Do share!

=D

Hi Mazza! I have no news. I am running a lot to prep for a half marathon so my bike is forlorn and neglected. I wish I could let you use my bike for awhile!

We got our first rain since spring this weekend. It's a good thing - so dry here this year. But riding is moving indoors... :P It's supposed to ry up a little tomorrow - we'll see

Hope your bike gets fixed soon, Mazza!

Half marathon - Go midwife!!

Hope you get your BMX back soon, Mazza!

I've been doing my usual amount of biking (today I did about 15 miles over the bridges in my area) but like Midwife, I'm focused on running for an upcoming half marathon. My darling hubbie managed to bike commute to work every day last week and he was so proud!

Tomorrow I'll be biking back over the bridges and then volunteering at a local triathlon (I get to work the finish line which will be fun!). I'm looking forward to it!

Midwife - sounds like you're training hard for the half marathon! I wish you the best of luck. When is it?

Chick in the Hat - I hope the sun comes out soon and you are able to go out for a nice outdoorsy ride. Sydney weather's been a bit hectic this past week -alternating between scorching hot days and too much rain.

T.Durden - Good luck for you too in the 1/2 marathon. How was the triathlon volunteering?

Hmm... got my BMX back yesterday and already I've come scathingly close to a cracked patella. I really must start wearing knee pads.

Anyone want to share cycling-related injuries?

Jeez mazza - take care of yourself!

Josephine - how was the Tri? And the training for the 1/2 marathon?

midwife - hope your training is going gangbusters, too!

I had an exciting morning - I finally got to my last training class to be a spin instructor. I had to "audition"...it gave me butterflies when they called it that. Apparently I survived it though...no one threw tomoatoes. And I got to fill out a form for a background check. Not that there's anything to find. It just feels funny having to interview but I guess I will be an employee. It just doesn't really feel like a job. Too much fun!

This month's thread is a little quiet!

I'll try to get conversation going again - is everyone riding the same routes?
Tried any new trails? Or maybe new routes as far as commuting to work goes?

Chick in the Hat - Are you teaching classes already?

Hey mazza!
Almost - I passed the background check. I have to wait until Monday to call the HR chick back.

I was still riding 1-2 days a week to work until the rains kicked in day before yesterday. We need the rain, tho, and indoors ain't so bad.

How're josephine and midwife doing with their running training?
