Default Doin it in the office

Good afternoon people.. I have started the ladies here in my office walking for 30 mins each work day. I would like to find something else to do in the office as well.. Can anyone come up with any ideas? I was thinking of getting some small rubber balls about 6 inches wide or so and putting them between the knees and squeezing them for a certain amount of time. What else can we do?

I do pushups at my desk. I can knock out a set of 15 pushups inclined at my desk in less than 30 seconds. 2 or 3 sets a day ... whenever I need to stand up and stretch from the computer.

Tricep dips off of my desk chair are good too.

Standing in place lunges to stretch my back and legs.

Squats (i.e. deep knee bends), while reaching up to the sky ... helps lengthen my whole back.

There are a lot of yoga things you can do at your desk too, that don't necessarily raise your heart rate or build muscle, but will help keep you loose and limber.

Here are some videos by Bob Harper of 5 minute office workouts:

There are several there and they take awhile to load.
Enjoy

/Off topic -- when I saw the thread title my mind went straight to the gutter. I'll go sit in the corner now.

Back on topic - I know some people do leg lifts, wall squats, and walk stairs during breaks. Those might be a few ideas...

You can get a resistance band and do literally hundreds of different sort of exercises with that thing. When away from a gym, I use mine to do shoulder press, chest press, bicep curls, rowing exercises.. list is endless.

Resistance bands are cheap, effective, versatile, don't occupy much space and are easy to use.

By the way, Mommamurray, good on you for not only making the effort to incorporate exercise into your working day, but for taking the initiative to motivate those around you to do the same!
