Question What food can you (or will you) not give up?

For me, it's pizza. I just looooooooove pizza, and I couldn't completely cut it out of my diet. So I'm very careful and try to eat thin crust kind, and just plain cheese or veggie.

So, what is your weakness, the food you just cannot, or will not, give up? And what things, if any, are the ways you try to incorporate that food into your diet plan?

chocolate. I refuse to give it up. (lucky for me that I haven't been craving it lately.)

If I was craving it...I'd just try and eat it in a smart way. Only have a few small pieces of candy, make sure I'm still in my calorie range. etc etc.

Maybe use it for motivation to work out longer.

Hmm, workout motivation is a great idea, Quiet. I never really thought of it that way. One extra slice of pizza = two more miles when I run.

carinna- have you tried the lean cuisine pizza? i really love it =]

For me I think it'd be Starbucks... I usually get the 4 packs of Dark chocolate mocha drinks at the store which are 190cal each and use it as my snack which I allow 200 cal for. But if I'm extra hungry that day I skip it and have something else.

I'm a pizza girl all the way, too, carinna. I LOVE it. Can't get enough of it. I can scarf it down so fast I don't even realize I've eaten it. I try to limit myself to once every couple of weeks, and no more than two slices. But I admit, a lot of times I'll eat a third and then feel gross about it afterwards.

I like to treat myself to a frozen yogurt once a week. It's super yummy. On my birthday in November, I plan to have the frozen yogurt with a topping (chocolate with a caramel center). Yummy!!!!

I haven't tried the Lean Cuisine pizza. I'm going grocery shopping tonight. I'll have to pick one up and give it a try.

There are a lot of things I won't give up!

Red wine
Diet Coke
Vodka (I like a good, Grey Goose citron martini with a twist every once in a while)
Chocolate (the really good dark stuff)
Pizza (I make homemade now with whole grain crust and my own sauce and toppings)
Baked potatos (I eat mine at lunch rather than with dinner and I skip the butter, sour cream, cheese, etc.)

A whole slew of other things, I know. Honestly I wont' really give up any food. That's why I like calorie counting over any other way of eating. I can have whatever I want as long as I allocate the calories for it.

When you said pizza, I thought "oooh yeah! that's my answer too!" But really my first instinct was BEER so I'll go with that.

I bowl in a league on Saturday nights and there is nothing more fun (to me) than to go bowling with my hubby and all our friends and drinking ice cold draft Bud Light. So I try (try, try, try) to scale back to really sipping my glass slooooowly. Some weeks I skip it.

But ice cold beer on summer hot evenings.....ah!!

I also love a good restaurant or bar BURGER....fat juicy all the toppings.

I also don't give my coffee with full fat half and half, but I do allot the calories for that (it's not THAT much anyways) and I don't care for the reduced fat stuff. Not as rich or flavorful in the coffee. Starbucks is a treat for me, but I really prefer plain ol coffee to fancy cappuccino drinks anyway. I convince myself it's okay if I "make it skinny".

NOT to say I haven't had them or won't but they don't bother me if i don't have them.

Pasta and Cheese! yumm. I use WG pasta now and fresh less processed cheese. As well as what photochic said i will not give up any food i love its all about moderation and if i am really craving it i feed the craving instead of ignoring it

jillnicole03:
Thanks! I'm still trying to decide what my reward will be at 135. I don't want it to be something too expensive, because I'd rather save the money for new clothes. (I have a gift card that'll cover part of the cost of the massage).

The Lean Cuisine roasted veggie pizza is yummy.

Their flatbread melts are good too. I *love* the chicken philly, but I didn't like the chicken ranch.
