There is a site called My Virtual Model. On there you can customize an avatar to your colouring, sort of your age and your weight and height. You can then change your settings to see what you might look like at your goal weight. It is a lot of fun and if not entirely accurate...somewhat inspiring.

That was sort of fun and yet eye opening for me. I don't usually realize what I look like. I was able to make the model be 250 pounds at my height and get a good (scary!) look at what I really look like. Then I took it down to 150 to see what I might look like if I ever got my act together, and it made me realize I need to get a move on! Thanks for the inspiration.

uh... Although I will admit the skinny version of my body would be hawt... I actually didn't mind the current version of me.

EH... I could see what I look like, and it looks pretty close...BUT, I wanted to see what I'd look like larger and smaller...it only lets you go to certain bmi's...

Fairly accurate for me. I did at my original weight, now, and what I'd look like at goal. Since the first 2 seem to be quite accurate, I hope the goal one will be as well! (Although as a photographer I gotta say that their portrait lighting sucks! *grin*)

same here. lol it's giving me an excuse to get complancent.. my body image hasnt caught up with the weight loss but when I check out mvr I'm pretty darn pleased with myself.

I am glad it wasn't just me then.

The interesting thing is the only time my own personal body image got bad was when I passed 300 lbs. All the way to 299 I was all like "I'm big but I'm hawt"... Then I was like. "OMG! I'M HUGE!"... Cause we all know 3 lbs makes a woooooorld of difference. Now that I am back under I ge that "I'm big but I'm hawt" thing going more often then the... "OMG! HIDE THE JUNKFOOD! I'm soooo huge!" feeling.

*kicks own butt over this to self motivate*

Truthfully most times I hardly notice any change. If it wasn't for major things like having to buy a belt 2 sizes lower, etc. I would still say I see myself the same in the mirror no matter what size I am.

I so know what you mean! No matter what weight I've ever been in the past ten years or so, I never noticed a change in the mirror. When I was in 8th grade, I was 230 and a size 22. By 11th, I had lost a bit of weight and quite a few inches - got myself down to about 200 and a size 16 - but I couldn't see the change for the life of me. The only thing that let me know the difference was the smaller jeans! I still felt fat and tried to hide every part of my body, even though everyone else said I looked fine. Maybe there's just a certain mentality when you're heavy that you'll always think you're a fat girl. Now I look at those size 16 jeans and think, "Wow! I was skinny! I don't remember being skinny. I remember being fat."

I can identify with that. Back in 2000 I had lost 40 pounds and was almost 1/2 way to goal. I had to buy smaller clothes, but when I looked in the mirror ~ I still looked like the same fat person to me.

I agree with you all, I can hardly see a change even though my family insists they do. I know my clothes are fitting better, but it looks like the same ol' me in the mirror.

mine looked pretty accurate....but one thing bugged me, when I put in my highest weight (250) that model's thighs still didn't touch together!
