Numbers Challenge: Weight Loss is a Numbers Game!! Wk #4
I believe weight loss is a numbers game and I'm planning on winning. Calories in vs. calories out. My plan is to eat fewer calories, and burn more calories. Numbers . . . no matter how you slice it.
This is a numbers based challenge and if you are interested in setting and achieving a goal, please join us.
My number is 3500. I want to burn 3500 calories in a week to burn one pound of fat per week. I use a heart rate monitor to tell me calories burned.
Your number can be anything. 60 minutes per day, 30 minutes, 15 minutes . . . whatever will challenge you THIS WEEK. Maybe your number is based on calories, or fiber, or something else.
The challenge runs Monday to Monday. You can keep the same challenge the next week, or pump it up a bit to keep you working harder and staying motivated.
Start a thread with your goal and keep us updated throughout the week.
Good luck!!!
Last week's Numbers Winners were:
Haleygirl & Mindy CONGRATULATIONS!!

My goals for the week are to get to 2000 calories burned.
I will also stay in my allowed cals on the daily plate at least 5 of the 7 days. (Some days I go over a few but I'll TRY not to.)
Also, I will drink 3 bottles (my bottle is 32oz) of water all 7 days....even Sat and Sun. I have no issue during the week but those weekends get me.
Week 2 (for me):
July 7th: Water: 3+ Bottles
Cals In: 283 Under
Cals Burned: 476
July 8th: Water: 4 Bottles
Cals In: 9 Under
Cals Burned: 257
July 9th: Water: 3 Bottles
Cals In: 459 Over...bad day!
Cals Burned: 534 WOOHOO!
July 10th: Water: 3 Bottles
Cals In: 36 Under
Cals Burned: Rest
July 11th: Water: 3 Bottles
Cals In: Over I'm sure but I have no idea how bad...ate out and don't know where to begin with logging the calories.
Cals Burned: Rest
July 12th: Water: 2 Bottles...UGGG!
Cals In: 679 OVER...damn those Mike's Lite Lemonades anyway.
Cals Burned: 422
July 13th: Water: 3 Bottles
Cals In: 3 Under
Cals Burned:404
Weekly Total: 2093 Woohoo! Made my exercise goal!
Missed the 96oz of water a day by 32oz.
Was only in my cals 4 out of 7 days.

I got my gold star!!! Whoop Whoop!! (Sorry, I was slow to post today.) Alright, so I only ran twice, but dragging my rear end up several hills on a bike is good enough!
1. I will do 200 minutes of cardio this week.
2. I will do the running program Shay turned me on to for 3 of those workouts.
3. I will get 7 hours of sleep every night this week.
4. Reduce my bike ride time by 10 minutes.
7/7:
7/8: 20 minute walk with Maggie the wonder-mutt
7/9:

7/11:
7/12:30 minute walk with Maggie the wonder-mutt

my weekly challenge is going to be an average of 2000 cals for the week, exercise is a little difficult because i have a painful sunburn and it hurts really bad to wear a sports bra
7/7: 1103(this is not a typical day but i wasnt feeling well)
7/8: 3223(i had a few beers which really put me over darnit!)
7/9: 1904 (finally a normal day!)
7/10:1993
7/11:2688 (i was driving a lot and i tend to eat when i go on road trips)
7/12: 2165 (i drove the same distance but i was home in the end not a hotel with easy snack access)
7/13:2229 (no excuse...just ate too much)
weekly average: 2186 darn so close to goal, oh well.

Hello everybody!!
Haley - Reading about your sunburn made me say "OUCH!" I hope it feels better, soon. Don't worry about those beers . . . just keep going!!!
Lynsey - I love your hair!!
Crissy - Where did you get the grumpy cat picture?? lol!!
Shay - I had coffee with an old friend of mine from high school yesterday and she had just been in Virginia. One of the Army bases. We went round and round on how to pronounce Norfolk.
I'm really enjoying my bicycle and my garden. We should be harvesting zucchini SOON. Maybe tomorrow!!
Take care everybody!

gg--The jury is out on how to say Norfolk. I know I don't say it correctly. My pronounciation of some words is funny to people. I refuse to say "eyebrow" out loud because it sounds like "eyebra"

Welcome Mia!! Portugal is one of the places on my "I must see before I die" list!!
I would love to bike through Portugal. I hear it is as lovely as Italy without all the tourists.
If we can be of any help in your weight loss journey, just let us know.

Haley - CONGRATULATIONS!!
I cut my hair a few months back, too. Didn't like it at first, but I had some layers added last time I had it cut and I like it better. I have some pictures of the wedding on my camera, I'll try to get a pic loaded this week.
Yesterday was just a BAD day for me. I've been exercising in the evening and once I get into that routine, it's really hard for me to work out in the morning. I re-covered some chairs during the day and then a big wind storm blew in and there was a fire just across the state line. It was really smokey and windy so I didn't workout. Plus, we had some really bad news about our boat. Oh well . . . it's only money.
I've got my running shorts & shoes on and I'll be heading out for a wog SOON!!
Sending happy, healthy thoughts to all of you!!
Crissy & Shay - How are you guys doing?
