Question What are yr mini-goals?

hi all ---
What are you working toward these days? How do you divide up the long journey if you have a lot of weight to lose?

I am shooting for 5% of my starting weight (13.25 pounds) as a first goal, then 10% of starting weight by the end of the summer. I've read that that much is a significant health benefit.

Um, and I hope to get to the hottie benefits later : )

I'm wondering how my weight loss will correlate with losing clothing sizes -- I think of my "correct" size as a 14 or 16, but it's like I have no memory of going from a 16 to a 22W -- I don't even know what's in those boxes of clothing in the attic, the intermediate sizes. (Scary, huh?)

My first was 10%, now I'm going more for numbers, so my next mini-goal is 85KG I believe, then again in 5 KG increments until I hit 70.

5 KG is much more friendly than 10 and since I seem to be on the scenic route at the moment that helps me feel less guilty.

I have a lot of mini goals as i think of my weight in both stone and clothes sizes - mostly because i dont own a scales yet (i really must get one). My first mini goal was to fit into a pair of jeans i bought - they nearly fit when i got them and now they fit comfortably! My next goal is weight (im buying the scales tomorrow, i swear! lol) - 10 1/2 stone, a 1/4 of the weight i want to lose althogether, then 10st etc. Half stones are good goals i think as its a bit noticable in appearance - but not so daunting that i feel overwhelmed

I like the idea of not-daunting goals! A stone is 14 pounds, right? You can definitely see half of that.

V, how's the weather there in Onederland? I'm looking forward to joining you there, and I WILL DO IT!

1/2 stone is definitely a realistic mini-goal - in fact it's probably even MORE realistic than 5KG!! My 5KG mini-goals are more around the time that one gets into a lower size, since it's just over 10lbs.

The weather in Onederland? Sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy I can't wait until you join me here Anita!!!!

I reached one mini goal of 125lbs this week, and now I'm working toward 120lbs. Just need to keep up on the healthy, low calorie eating and the exercise and I'll be there in no time!

I also go for the half stone goals, but I have loads of clothes in different sizes, some I've held onto from when I was smaller and some are things I've got in the sale that I've never worn yet, but I have about 5 pairs of trousers and a few tops that are my mini goals I can't wait to wear those things! I try on the closest fitting pair of trousers evey couple of weeks to keep me motivated and I'm almost into a lovely pair of jeans I got for £5 in the sale in January

yay, going2b! Those jeans are going to feel soooo good! I too have boxes (and boxes) of clothing in various sizes; I can't wait to give away my current size (and then the next few down!!)

Hope everyone is having a good day -- I found batteries for the vcr on the little tv, so now I have a place to play workout videos! Anyone have a recommendation for low-impact cardio? (I have Richard Simmons and love him, even though he is dorky.)

Since I'm just starting a reboot my first mini goal is to not gain any weight the first month. I'm shooting for weight loss, of course, but if I can go one month without gaining anymore weight I'll know that I can do this. It was so much easier the first time I lost the weight because it was the main objective but now I have real life stuff like a job, relationship and social life that I need to learn to work with.

I don't weigh myself, so my mini goals are dress sizes. If I lose a dress size every six weeks or so, I'm thrilled. I am currently in an 18, but having just quit the nicotine habit, I'm afraid I'm going to go up a bit. That's okay, and I didn't let myself get out of control eating (like I did the last time I quit smoking). Hopefully I will balance out and get back to the reducing again shortly.

My new mini goals are every ten pounds... 199, 189, 179, etc. I love it when you just hit that "just under" It almost feels like, sliding under the huge falling stone door just in the nick of time and grabbing my hat at the last second! and when I hit 199, I may be just 1 pound away from 200, but I'll still be under
BTW, great job on the smoke free, 150reasons!

Wink

I met one of my goals this morning.

It was to incinerate 400 calories on the treadmill within 60 minutes. Did it in 56, so pleased with myself.

I got the treadmill when I was 40 ( now 47 ) and used no incline at all, and averaged 200 calories per hour, barely was able to move the indicator light past the warmup/cool down phase. Eventually managed to light one green light in 'fat burn'. I now have past all 3 green lights in fat burn and am able ( for short periods of time ) to actually go to the second light in 'endurance'.

So I am stronger at 47 than I was at 40. I would never in a trillion years believed it possible, had you said this to me then.

I try to work toward 10 lb. milestones, but my very first "official" mini goal is to get to ONEderland. I'm about 10 lbs. away which is awesome, especially considering the fact that my weight hasn't started with a 1 in about 4 years (basically, since just after high school)...I can't wait!

I have a mini-goal for this week of hitting 15+ lbs lost (I was at 14 last week).
