Thumbs down Stupid Plateau

Blah. I've been the same weight for over a week. I KNOW my problem is twofold -- I'm not drinking enough water (but I really AM trying), and I'm not eating enough veggies. I'm so bored with vegetables right now that it's not even funny. I really need to come up with some new ideas.

To me one week without loss is not a plateau. I've found the longer I'm on this journey the less predictable loss becomes. Heck I've seen 2 and even 3 weeks without loss then I'll lose 3 or 4 in one week without doing anything different. Just keep going and the loss will follow.

I've gone for months on a plateau, while staying OP and exercising and doing everything right. Hang in there and be patient, the scale will eventually move. It's very common to not show a loss every week.

As the ladies have said, plateaus are just common around here. When you lose weight healthfully it happens. My Dr. says it's my body's way of trying to control and regulate. Lately I go about 3 weeks on the same weight and then swoosh a good 3-4 pounds in a week. Hang in there and check out the "What's for Dinner" thread and then "Weekly Veggie" thread for inspiration.

a week is nothing...

long term is what counts. i'm going to show a gain this month (a few off plan days have hurt me) but in the long run i do well.

the bigger concern is you better figure out how to love veggies.... they are the backbone of any healthy eating plan.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I made goulash last night, and since I can't thicken with traditional thickeners, I steamed then pureed broccoli and mixed it in. You couldn't tell with all the seasoning, and it thickened the sauce nicely. Maybe you should try things like that to get more veggies in...?

Hang in there. Even if you remain at the same weight for several weeks, you should still stay on the diet. It's better than gaining, right? Sometimes I would give up on diets because of plateaus and now I realize I just made things worse by eating poorly and packing on even more pounds.
If you do plateau for several weeks though, you should evaluate your food and exercise logs and make some changes to see if that will get the scale to move again. I am sure the experts on this board would be happy to do that for you.
