Has anyone ever taken biotin as a vitamin supplement? What are your experiences?

I've been taking it for about a month. I have thin hair and I've noticed that it's getting a little better and my nails have been growing faster than usual.

I've been taking 5000mcg of biotin for years...yes, it helps to keep the hair on my head. i also read somewhere that it is a natural sleep aid???? ( i never verified this anywhere)...i switched my dose to before bed and it does seem to help...i am a bigtime insomniac..if it works i don't ask questions.

Thanks for the replies. I just started taking it a few weeks ago. So far I've got a more dewy and even complexion, which I suppose is good! I am mainly hoping to boost hair growth, as I've noticed some thinning in the past year. I do see some little new 1/2" hairs at my hairline and my hair seems to be growing faster. I bought a 4 month supply of the 5000mcg to start, so I'll see how it goes!
