Red face Detox help

Hi...I'm kind of aware of what detox entails but I'm not great with nutritional things when it comes to diets. I want to give detox a go but I was just wandering if anybody has done it and would have any advice.

My plan is to just eat fruit/veg and drink water. I'm pretty sure this is a typical kind of detox but to be honast I don't know much about it. I also have no idea how long this plan should last... any ideas?

hi,

just my opinion but if you want to detox why not just go with a balanced low fat approach with lots of fruits and veggies?

I completely agree

It depends on what you mean by detox, but the idea of a detox is a myth, perpetuated by detox product sales forces (some of which are potentially dangerous). Some of the most widely respected medical experts in the world tell us detoxing is unnecessary and doesn't really 'detox'. The body is naturally cleansing. The best way to approach it is to eliminate processed and/or fatty foods, tobacco, whatever else you might put in your body that doesn't belong, and then just eat a very natural whole foods diet, and drink plenty of water, and keep it up. Healthy living isn't meant as an occasional treatment for the opposite

Last week after the 4th of July weekend, I felt really bad on Monday morning. Kind of a salty food hangover. I planned on doing a water fast that day, but didn't make it for very long-ha ha! I did eat cleaner that day, drank alot of water, and no added salt in my food. I felt alot better on Tuesday. I don't think a day of drinking water and eating only fruits and vegetables would hurt you, but I wouldn't go longer than a day without any protein. Maybe you could eat some lean protein also. Hey, that's how we should be eating anyway-LOL!

Good luck
