Talking JULY Points Challenge (This has nothingto do with WW)

Summer is here! How is it going so far?? Are you achieving your goals? How about a challenge to help us along!!! It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition. Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points (no columns please). That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

Here is how it's going to go. Starting July 1st 2008. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way) Sorry, no 1/2 points.

Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

Who's ready for a challenge???? It starts tomorrow!

I've just been too busy to keep up with updating this, although I'm as on-plan as usual. Perhaps I'll pop back in for it next month.

I'm in.

Food: 1700 calories or less
Water: More than 2 litres
Exercise: I joined curves today (30 days for 30 bucks) so I'll be doing that along with walking and pilates. Elliptical is max once a week at a low tension setting (my knees!)


7/1 - 1 spent a lot of hours in pain. going to doctor on Friday.
7/2 - 4 but i took 2 more machines off my curves circuit if I want to still have a working knee
7/3 - 4 bought a new knee tensor
7/4 - 3 resting my knee till monday..
7/5 - 2 and horrendous stomach pain most of the night...
7/6 - 4
7/7 - 4
7/8 - 4
7/9 - 4
7/10 - 2 and staying up most of the night with stomach pain. Je suis stupide
7/11 - 2 Going to see cirque du soleil trip! (no excuses either) - (the 2 is for food) but I was still in a lot of pain
7/12 - 3 Cirque! - woke up at 5 in pain... and worked out for an hour since my hotel room was off the gym. too bad there isnt a gym off my house
7/13 - 1 cirque! (no excuses here) - (yeah.. and it was only exercise)
7/14 -4. i was at curves at 6.. and did one go around. but i hadnt eaten lunch so I stopped working out and hung out on the stretch mats to visit a friend. BUT I went for a walk at 4am so.. that counts as exercise
7/15 - 4 FINALLY figured out what was causing the pain and got rid of it. (4 hours in a walk in and a px for a drug not available in Canada. ugh)
7/16 - 2
7/17 - 4 ate a lot of protein at dinner. I think I need to re-examine what maconutrients my cals come from.
7/18 - 2
7/19 - 2 and went to the ER. got some decent pain killers and a new px
7/20 - 4
7/21 - 4
7/22 - 3 missed exercise
7/23 - 2
7/24 - 3
7/25 Wedding in Vancouver - 1

Food: 1200-1300 cal. a day
Water: 88 ozs. ( I have a 22oz water bottle it makes it easier)
Exercise: 15 minutes working up to 30 minutes a day by the end of the month.

7/1 - 3- I didn't get my 88ozs in today.

7/3 -2- this has been 2 very sad days for me.

I loved it in June and I will love it in July. It helped to keep me focused on what I needed to do!
Food wise 1200 to 1600 calories a day!
At least 6 tall glasses of water!
every day for at least 30 mins....no days off!

Hi, Im new to this but would like to give it a whirl!
My goals for July:
Food: eat 3 meals a day, lower carbs higher protein and to make wise food choices..no opting out
water: 2 1/2 L a day
Exercise: At least 30 minutes a day to include a min of 3 gym sessions a week and 4 walking/running/biking/swimming
I do some of this all the time..but I never seem to get most of it most of the time which is what I want for July.

I would like to join even though I am getting a bit of a late start. I think it will help me focus, and get me started on my exercise again.

I just remembered that we are going away for 5 days this month, so even though that will be a challenge, hopefully this will help keep me focused.

Food: WW - Stay on plan.
Water: 5 glasses (Not a water drinker, so anything is an improvement).
Exercise: 20 mins per day to start, 30 starting on the 15th.

7/6 = 2 (Went out for dinner, and while I didn't really over do, I have no idea how many points it was).

Trying again...

For my reference: 2 points for food. 1 point for water. 1 point for exercise

For food, I'm just trying to stay away from junk foods, fast food, pop, candy, etc... Watch my portions, have more fruits/veggies (downfall, I hate them, and NEVER eat them...which is part of my problem). And no nighttime snacking.
For exercise, I'm starting off with a goal of 30 minutes a day.
For water, 64+ oz's.

Week 1 Weight: 250
7.7 1 point. I started off good with the eating, but failed once I got to work! Got enough water (but thats the easy part for me), I didn't get around to any exercise today... Tomorrow is a new day.
7.8 1 point. I did overly-great on my water today, but once again, I ate all the wrong stuff, and didn't do anything for exercise.
7.9 1 point. Again good water. Bad food. No exercise.
7.10 4 points! I did good today on food, and water! I did alot of cleaning, which had me in a good sweat for about 2 hours, so I'm counting it as exercise!
7.11 3 points... I did good on water, and had only one minor mishap with food intake, but I'm not even counting it.. No exercise again. =(
7.12 3 points. All good except I didn't exercise, as usual.
Week 2 weight: 245lbs - I don't know how I managed to lose 5 pounds because I haven't done real great.
7.13 1 point. No exercise, and I've had like 4 brownies.
7.14 4 points! Good day!
7.15 1 point. Good water, bad everything else.
7.16 4 Points! WOHO! I stepped on the scale today.. "just to see" - And to my disappointment I gained 6 pounds. Arg. But its motivated me to do really well today, and so far so good! current weight 251lbs
7.17 0... I have no idea.. I don't remember.
7.18 0 again, I dont remember.
7.19 1... I'm good at the water thing.
Week 3 weight: 251
I Have no idea what I did/ate last week. I didn't have internet, and I didn't write it down.
Week 4 weight:
7.28 3 points. I ate very little today thanks to getting over the flu. Got in my waters, but didn't exercise, too wore out from having the flu...

Total days of dieting: 21
Total points earned: 27 out of a possible 84
Total weight lost this month: 0
Total weight lost all together: 0
