Default The new chick

Hi every one
I'm new around here...don't know all the rules and all...so bear with me.
Never thought I would have 100 lbs to loose. My life has been one stress after another for the past 7 years. I had alot of good reasons that I needed to be good to myself...being good to myself meant comfort food and a lot of it. so I have managed to go from 137lbs. to 250.
Time to learn a new way of being good to myself because I am sure there is plenty more sress comming my way at some time...So here I am. Ready to start being really good to myself and get healthy. I hope to find friends here and we can encourage each other along the way. Failure is not an option.

Welcome! Welcome! I know what you mean. I made excuses for over a year about how I had no time to be healthy, then I had to make time. There's a forum about losing 100 lbs, 100 lb club or something. Jump in anywhere, you are welcome!

Welcome djay. I know the feeling...I can remember being 150 and thinking I'd NEVER weight more than that...here I am.

I try to remember every day that being good to myself means eating mindfully, not mindlessly, at that at the end of washing down anger or depression with chocolate, I'm just angrier and more depressed, only mostly at myself.

Good luck

Yes!!!! Taking care of oneself, treating ourselves with respect, not abusing food, getting down and staying at a healthy weight, is the very best way to take care of ourselves. And when then happens, you will find that is the most comforting of all. Waaaay more comforting then any of that food ever was.

Best of luck to you as you embark on this incredibly rewarding, worthwhile journey.

djay - I think the best part of this forum is that we all understand the struggles of being overweight and trying to do something about it.

Many times, I will have some issue - go to post about it, and find it already being discussed! It's like we are all mind readers

This board is really the most supportive one out there.

WOW Fiberlover! You are only 2 lbs away from 100 lbs! That is fantastic! What kind of program are you on. Have you stayed with the same program the whole time?
