Default Serene Saturday and Sunday Chat

"Serene Saturday and Sunday" we hope!

Everyone please be sure to read the Announcement up top in the yellow band. We did lose a lot of posts but we're back. May results are lost but I do have a copy of the June Weightloss targets which I can put back up later. The good news is that we didn't gain back the weight we've lost since May 23!

Hotter than hades here today and I have to go dig daffodils at the Church and relocate them. They may all end up in the shade. We have a great group of people working at scraping and repainting the windowframes at the Church but my knee won't let me climb ladders. I'm taking watermelon and my rum cake - sorry! Food porn!

Disney had her first bath yesterday and just hated it. My friend Holly who used to be my groomer came in after work and we both tackled the poor little sweetie. She was good but there was a lot of trembling - memories of Katrina? She looks pretty good now, all white and fluffy with her bangs trimmed so you can see her gorgeous black eyeliner and lashes.

Time to get some breakfast and then get organized for the morning's effort.

How's your Saturday?

It's going to be a hot one here, too. In the 90's, but the weatherman just said it's going to feel like 101!!!!!

We're getting things ready to go sit out in the sun and heat at a neighborhood yardsale at Andrea's. I'm not looking forward to it, but she needs my help with the grandkids. Monica and the girls are coming over for it, too. We plan to give the pool a good workout after this.

Ruth, do you still have daffodils blooming? Mine are a distant memory already. Go easy in this heat and drink plenty of water! At least Disney will feel cooler after her haircut.

The daffies at the Church have been over for a month. Unfortunately they were planted in the lawn (not my idea!) and the long grass around them now looks terrible. I won't let the guys mow them down because then we will lose more flowers next year. They did that last year after bloomage and this spring's display was puny! So I'll be digging and moving them into the borders and crossing my fingers that they have time to grow next year's flowers.

Ruth - the flowers are beautiful! Hope they take well!

Cottage - we're in central PA, just moved from NC last year. Didn't I move AWAY from this heat and humidity?! UGH!!

I'm at work again today, and on call all weekend. Hopefully, not too insane!! I'm afraid the heat will bring in heat stroke victims...be careful!!

Have a lovely weekend all!

Good morning! It is a happy Saturday as both girls slept past 6! Yay!

Natalie and I have a birthday party this morning, and luckily that's our only plan for today! I need to get to the store, and get Natalie's things ready for camp hich starts next week. And maybe if there's time we'll go to the pool!

Ruth -- moving flowers sounds like a big job!! Good luck.

Cottage -- good luck with the yard sale.

Good Saturday morning chicks. I was bummed out when I came to put my smilie face yesterday, and couldn't. Well, as long as it doesn't mean I have to do the last two weeks over again! I just hope I can remember all my exercise minutes.

phx, there is a WATP thread under the exercise part of the forum, you might be able to find more info about a specific workout there - those chicks take their WATP seriously! If you are walking 4 - 5 miles in 50 minutes, that is a pretty brisk pace. You could probably easily start off with a 3 mile WATP (45 minutes). I have two WATP dvds - the 5 Day Fit Walk, which has two 1-mi workouts, and three 3-milers, and I have the Intensity Walk, which has a 1-mi, a 2-mi, and a 4-mil. They all work up to pretty much the same level of intensity, so it just depends on how long you want to work out, or how much time you've got. I like the ones with the hand weights, because that really seems to get my heart rate up well.

Ruth, your ticker is showing 180's! Hooray!

It's already so hot and muggy and our pool is not open yet. Today DS has horseback riding, and DD has her dance recital this afternoon. I think we'll go see the movie on the green tonight (Flubber!). In between I'll be running to the store and the farmer's market. We will surely begin air conditioning wars today. This goes on in our house every summer. My kids want AC. DH hates AC. I only really need it if it's hot at night. We do live in the mountains and get some nice cool breezes at night, plus my house is old and does not have central AC. So I've got some small window units for the bedrooms, and DH gets very cranky every year when it's time to get them out, but last night was a little too sticky for comfort.

Morning!

DH is going to play golf in awhile, I think.

DS and I are in the throes of potty training. He looks adorable in his little white underwear though. I bought a pack of "Cars" underwear and a pack of regular whites....after yesterday, he's down to his regular whites until I do laundry today.

I'm feeling sick...sore throat, sinus congestion. I hope it isn't anything bad. I thought about taking DS to the Planetarium this morning with our playgroup, but I don't know if we'll get around to it.

Have a great day!

Good morning everyone,

Ruth- Those flowers looked great, I envy your green thumb, good luck with moving them.

Cottage- Stay cool at the yard sale and hope you do brisk business, enjoy the pool later on.

Tywnn- Hopefully you will have a slow weekend oncall

Nataliesmom- That is great that your girls slept past 6...I guess I have it lucky I have to wake everyone up at my house if we need to go somewhere because all of my kids will slept past 9:30 a.m. everyday if I let them.

Schmoodle- I am there with you, I had to rack my brain last night to remember what I did this past week for a workout since I am trying to change things up a bit not doing the same w/o each day (where is my memory) but I did remember and got it back up to speed. I am there with you our pool is not open yet they are still completing repairs should open in a week or so and it is in the 90's.

As for me today we are just going to go shopping DD wants a new bathing suit for vacation trip so we will hit the mall up and see what we can find in the price range I am willing to spend. Got most of the house cleaning done yesterday inbetween staying in the basement because of Tornado Sirens, but thankfully none hit in our town. Have a great day everyone.

Morning chicks.....

Crawling my fat butt back to the beach! Hope there is a hot looking cabana boy reserved for me! I did my typical spring stress eating and am now at an all time high for the past three years. UGH! Oh well, I am here, going to watch carefully this weekend and then hit Phase 1 hard on Monday. My mindset has been so far from SBD that I am going to have to do some reading. Supercharged? I keep seeing that pop up.

Schmoodle Our AC wars consist of DH cranking it WAY too low. He always complains about how hot it is in here. I try to manage so we can keep the electric bill ow.

Ruth You would be so ashamed of my landscaping. Not a flower in sight. My mom's, however, is AMAZING! I didn't inherit her green thumb, that is for sure.

Cottage Sounds like a hot, hot day to be outside! The pool will feel glorious! I have a lot of running around to do this morning, but may take the girls to my mom's to swim later if we have time.

Twynn, Natalie, and Zeffryn Looking forward to getting to know you!

Pearlrose Morning!!

Me- Today is going to consist of a bunch of running around for my DD's birthday party tomorrow. She turns three on Monday and while I thought I was keeping her b-day bash pretty simple, I have lots to do today. She is having it a cool playground that has a really neat sprayground. She adores flip-flops, so we are calling it a "Flip Flop" party. I am making a cake that will hopefully look like a pair of flip flops, we got all the kids new flip flops. It should be great fun.

Need more coffee........

Hi chicks, I got a load of sheets hung out, vacuumed, mopped the kitchen, and scrubbed the banister, and I am dripping! (TMI, I know).

Kiko,
the flip flop party is an adorable idea! At DD's party last year, I had the girls decorate their own flip flops, and they loved it. Supercharged is the new edition of SBD. It has updated food lists, an exercise program, and a few other updates, but nothing you don't probably already know.
Glad the tornadoes missed you Pearl!
Feel better soon zeff.
Twynn, hope work is quiet today.
Nat's Mom, enjoy your peaceful day.
cottage, hope you survived the yard sale and enjoy the pool for me! I am so jealous...

Just waiting for DD and DH to get home so I can go to the farmer's market. We need a brake job, so are down to one car, ugh.

It sure was quiet in here yesterday. Did a day of no 3FC cure our addictions or have you all melted away on this hot weekend?

We have more hot stuff today but I figure I can handle anything after digging daffies for four hours at the Church yesterday. An afternoon nap and two hours of reading on the back deck was a good antidote.

This morning I have Church at 8:30 and will take Disney for the first time. I am assuming she'll be good but we might need to exit early. After that there'll be some odds and ends of garden stuff before I go to town to do dog evaluations for Thera-Paws. Luckily we are doing this in an air-conditioned facility rather than the usual hot and muggy church hall!

It's a busy weekend. How's yours going?

If it wasn't for air-conditioning, I think I'd melt away! It's brutal!

We're off to breakfast and a visit with Mom & Dad. I expect all the kids will show up again to spend the rest of the day enjoying the pool.

Jake is ready to leave, so I'll check back in a little later.

My daughter woke me up at 6:45 because of her cold, but I used it to my advantage....already went on my 3 mile walk/jog (1.8 miles straight at a jog...highest ever!)! Good thing, it's too hot to go later!

Can't really plan anything in this horrid weather...probably another day of the kids playing in the sprinkler or the creek!

Keep cool all!!
