Default Inefective exersices?

Sorry Ineffective exercises?

I have read that the Adductor Machine and weighted side bend are both ineffective exercises. I am wondering how true this is?

I do Adductor at 90 lbs 3 set 15 reps
I do side bend at 25 lbs 3 set 15 reps

I definitely feel both of these exercises, so i am wondering why are they ineffective? If i can feel it and am exhausting the muscle isn't that a good thing?

Dont get me wrong i do plenty of other exercises to taget theese area.

so i am just wondering how are theses not effective?

Hi Vates!

Weighted side bends can build enough muscle to actually thicken the sides of your waist, rather than make it smaller. Remember, working with resistance will build muscle and most women aren't looking to build a lot of muscle in their midsections.

And here's a thread talking about the merits of the abductor and adductor machines that might answer your question: Hip abductors and adductors...what are they good for?

Good for you for doing a variety of exercises! It's just that the ones above may not be the best for helping you reach your goals.

thanks for the info. On that same line would hyperextension on a Roman Chair also be ineffective?

I do those all the time and think they're a great lower back exercise. I personally wouldn't call them ineffective.
