Default help flour substitute

Hi I''m in phase 1. I found a recipe for sumer squash pancakes. But it requires flour. Are there and substitutes or must I wait until phase 2 and use wheat flour?
Thank you...

I'd just wait and fix them differently. I love to saute them in a little olive oil with onions and peppers with a little creole seasoning mixed in.

yeah that's what I figured...
I had shredded butternut squash recently, I was thinking about doing that to summer squash too. It tasted soo good. It had some salt, pepper, some butter (of course I'd use the other stuff)
And for the pancake thing, I'll just wait. Thanks!

You could use soy flour, or another bean flour, if you really wanted to give them a go.

actually my understanding is that in p1 any kind of flour, nut or bean or otherwise is not a good idea....

Why? Soy flour is literally just ground up soybeans.

because it has to do with the GI and GL issues associated with overly processed foods.. .grinding it up takes away the fiber and increases the GIycemic load.

carbs-information.com/soy-foods/carbs-in-soy-flour.htm

this is the carb content of soy flour...
7g net carb. for 1oz

\purezing.com/living/food_articles/living_articles_coconutflour.htm
This is an awesome article. I still won't use it until phase 2 but it seems really good as an option!
3g carbs for 80 grams of it! and high in fiber!
Add www to these because I can't post links yet..LOL

the thing about SBD is that we don't count carbs.. that's part of the beauty of the plan...

I know its not about counting carbs or anything like that. but it is teaching us to choose better options. I would rather trysome alternatives for regular flour if it meant a better choice.
Its the same that they have us eat wheat bread instead of white bread. It may be the same carbs, but it is more nutritious for us.
The article for the coconut flour mentioned that it should be mixed with wheat flour, oat flour, soy flour for things like cakes, cookies...otherwise alone it wouldn't come out good at all!
Anyhow...I welcome any ideas. Thank you guys for your suggestions thus far!

You can try Almond FLour. Very Low in carbs too
